Liverpool are planning summer moves for Tottenham’s Jan Vertonghen, and highly wanted Spanish full-back, Alberto Moreno.
Liverpool had missed out on numerous transfer targets in the summer and winter transfer window, more so because of the club’s inability to attract players with Champions League football than anything else. However, after the CL prospects looking brighter than ever, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is preparing summer bids for quality players so that Liverpool have a deeper squad with good quality and is able to compete at the highest level in all competitions. Rodgers spoke of the importance of Champions League football to attract quality players:

There have been reports which have suggested that Liverpool would target Real Madrid’s Isco in the summer in an attempt to make the Spaniard their costliest signing. While people might regard this rumor as an audacious one, the links to quality players are certainly an encouraging sign.
Reports now suggest that Liverpool would be attempting to sign Jan Vertonghen from Tottenham in the summer. The highly rated defender came to Tottenham from Ajax in 2012. Moreno is aAi??quick and athletic player who is willing to get forward. The 21 year old provides his side with a genuine attacking threat as he links up with attackers very well. He is a good passer of the ball and his crosses are very accurate. He also positions himself well and stays on his feet without committing completely while defeding. Moreno is a regular starter in Spain’s U 21 side and was called up in Spain’s senior squad after the injury to Jordi Alba.Ai??With Liverpool’s weak defence, the addition of the young player would be a huge boost.
