Liverpool FC are reportedly on the verge of completing their move for QPR striker Loic Remy, beating competition from Arsenal FC and Tottenham Hotspur.
Loic Remyai??i??s future has been up for speculation all summer since with QPR manager Harry Redknapp stating that the French international is unlikely to remain at the club in this transfer window. Both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the striker, but now reports suggest Liverpool have moved ahead in the race for his signature and are on the verge of completing this deal.
Loic Remy joined QPR in 2013 in a much talked about move as he somehow escaped the clutches of Newcastle United. Remy scored six goals in 14 games, but couldnai??i??t help QPR escape relegation as they finished at the bottom of the table.
At the start of last season, Remy joined Newcastle United on loan and the 27-year-old produced some good performances The Magpies. Remy ended the season with 14 goals and two assists in 24 starts as Newcastle finished at the top half of the table. His performances earned him a place in the French national team squad for the World Cup and attracted interest from Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
The Gunners were always considered as the favourites to sign the Frenchman as Arsene Wenger looked to strengthen his forward line. Remy was also pictured in the stands during an Arsenal match at the end of last season, which fuelled further speculations about his move to the Emirates.
Remy has been scouted by Arsenal since his Marseille days and his price makes him an attractive proposition for Arsene Wenger. Remyai??i??s current clause with QPR has a A?8million and initial reports suggested that both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are keen to evoke it.
But Liverpool have moved ahead in this race for his signature and journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reported that the Frenchman is close to signing a five-year contract with the Merseyside club.

The Reds were in the market for another striker following the departure of Luis Suarez, and although Remy is hardly a player of same pedigree, he has a prolific goal scoring record during his time in England.
QPR manager Harry Redknapp revealed that Remy is keen to play Champions League football, one of the reason why he turned down Tottenham, and he hopes for a quick resolution to his future.

The Mirror reports that Remy is demanding a wage of A?80-90,000-a-week and the Reds are unwilling to pay that much for someone who will be their second choice striker. But Rodgers is also confident that Remy will lower his demands and deal will be concluded in the coming days.
