Liverpool FC want to bring Bundesliga’s highly impressive goalkeeper Loris Karius to Anfield.
The Merseysiders are currently struggling in the league and are weak in all departments. However, the one thing that still stands out is the defence, which despite ‘upgrades’, still remains shockingly poor. Brendan Rodgers brought in Simon Mignolet from Sunderland last season and after an impressive early showing, the Belgium international did not perform too spectacularly and the weaknesses in his game started becoming more apparent. Last season, the Reds were scoring at will and possessed one of the deadliest attacks in Europe. This time, their goals have also become far lesser. The need for a good defence in such a case is needed and without it, last season’s Premier League runners up are looking extremely poor in their overall game.
Simon Mignolet has personally not had a good season, and Liverpool’s first choice goalkeeper looks likely to be replaced sometime soon. Mignolet is a wonderful shot stopper but his ability to punch, hold on to the ball and defend at set pieces and corners is exploited to great extents by the opposition. The Reds have been linked with a host of goalkeepers so far, which suggests that another goalkeeper will be brought in sometime soon. Liverpool’s back up option is also not great, with Australian Brad Jones occupying the current spot.
The Reds have been reported to be chasing Victor Valdes (but the ex-Barca player looks set to be joining Manchester United now), GuillermoAi??Ochoa and Neto notably. Latest to join this list is Mainz 05’s extremely impressive Loris Karius.
The 21 year old GermanAi??helped Mainz to an incredible start to this campaign having kept two cleansheets in the first five games (overall four clean sheets), which included one against Borussia Dortmund (Mainz won 2-0). He incredibly saved Ciro Immobile’s penalty effort in the game as well.Ai??Mainz have have drawn 6 of their 11 games in the league this season, and Kariusai??i?? saves have helped the team’s cause greatly.
Karius started his youth career with Stuttgart and played for the Germany U16 team. After impressing scouts at his games, he had the decision of choosing between Stuttgart and Manchester City to sign his first professional contract. He moved to Mainz in 2012 after spending the previous season on loan with the Bundesliga club.
Since then, he has made 38 appearances for Mainz in all competitions, with 14 of them coming this season.Ai??

Karius would be a great additions for Liverpool.
