Liverpool FC boss Brendan Rodgers has admitted that he is feeling the pressure of his side not getting results.
Liverpool suffered their fourth defeat in a row, and third straight one in the league after losing 3-1 against Crystal Palace. The Merseysiders are now 12th in the league and also on the verge of getting knocked out of the Champions League, provided they don’t win their remaining two games in it, and one just this Wednesday.
The Reds were an incredible phenomenon in Europe last season and were a treat to watch. They were conceding poor goals, but they were outscoring oppositions with ease (eg: Stoke 3- Liverpool 6). However, the loss of Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez has left that absolutely toothless in the attack and they are just not finding ways of scoring past the opposition.
Liverpool got off to a bright start against Palace as Adam Lallana sent in a delightful ball to Rickie Lambert and the striker scored with ease in the 89th second of the game to register his first goal since his move. The former Southampton duo got the visitors off to a dream start. However, Palace shook off this initial threat and got themselves back into the game just minutes later and ended the game 3-1, courtesy some very weak defending.
What was shocking was that even though Liverpool had two legitimate penalty appeals turned down, they had no threat from open play and had one shot on target all evening. And in the end, Palace fully deserved the three points.
Manager Brendan Rodgers is naturally coming under a lot of pressure and he has admitted that his job might be on the line if results don’t start coming soon.

Liverpool need to immediately regroup as they travel to Bulgaria to face Ludogorets, a side that has been very good in the competition, in a must win tie. Mario Balotelli scored in the reverse tie at Anfield and the Italian would hope he can help Liverpool again in this clash, provided he is fit. But Rickie Lambert’s goal would definitely put Rodgers in two minds and the former Southampton player might get his first Champions League start on Wednesday.
