Liverpool FC are leading the race to sign 19 year old Daley Sinkgraven, who has been dubbed as the new Steven Gerrard.
The SC Heerenveen midfielder Daley Sinkgraven has been linked with the Reds but they face tough competition from Manchester United and Ajax.
Rumors surrounding the player and Liverpool’s interest actually made rounds early in October, but these rumours have resurfaced because of interview with Sinkgravenai??i??s club captain Marten De Roon, who has tipped his 19 year old teammate to do great things in the future, and hinting that he could leave in either January or the summer.

Sinkgraven had a breakthrough season in 2013/14 playing 17 games while starting five of them as an 18 year old.Ai??The central midfielder has scored three goals and grabbed two assists in 13 Eredivisie appearances this term. Just 19, these stats are very impressive and his potential seems great.
The 19 year old plays centrally, but has been operated both ahead and behind that role. However, he works best in the middle. He dictates the play from the middle of the park and has a good defensive work rate, which means that he also helps shield the defence.
THT VERDICT
Sinkgraven seems like a good player and a tailor made replacement for Steven Gerrard. Him being 19 means he fits FSG’s policy perfectly. Liverpool’s American owners like to go for young players with lots of potential. However, the Reds are in dire need of experience within their squad and for that, perhaps Sinkgraven might be more a luxury than a need. The Reds’ priority should be a defensive midfielder, a right sided central defender, a goalkeeper, and someone in the attack. Moreover, they already have young Jordan Rossister in their academy who plays the Sinkgraven role and looks mighty impressive. The youngster has made a senior appearance for the Reds in the League Cup and also ended up scoring on his debut. Suso also resembles Sinkgraven in style, but the Spaniard’s future at Merseyside is unsure. Hence, this transfer doesn’t look like one Liverpool need in the winter. A move in the summer can of course, not be rule out and depending on the situation, might turn out to be a great one then.
Manchester United have been getting held back from regular injuries and need to increase their squad. But van Gaal would target players with more experience to add as he looks to bring United back in the top 4. With Kevin Strootman heavily linked with the Red Devils, it doesn’t look likely that United would land Sinkgraven in the winter.
