Money has often proved to determine the stature of the league, with the I league miserably failing to attract any ‘big spending’ sponsors like the ISL, money could ultimately prove to be the factor, which would keep this league growing and going. The franchisees sealing sponsorships with Aircel, Muthoot and other leading industries are yet another example of money already being thrown out for the greater good of the game.
Other Technicalities :
Who dosent love a little bit of razzmatazz and hip? Everyone! Right from, cricketing legend Sourav Ganguly owning the Kolkata franchisee to Salman Khan owning the Pune team, word has it, that their presence provides a lot boom to the almost everything, from sports to a clothing range. Star Network, bagging the TV rights would not only ensure money, but a established platform to gain more viewership and spread awareness. ISL Anthem, Previews, team reviews and every possible antic done by the Star Sports, will gradually increase and accumulate more public. Yet again, portraying everything in a very ‘European Way’.
From revolutionizing football at the grass-roots to providing fans with a hit of ‘masala’, the Indian Super League, is set to be a massive commercial hit. Although the aim, which is to promote and increase the standards of Indian Football, seems to be at course, there may be an outside theory of the Indian Super League manhandling the I league.
