Manchester United goal-keeper David De Gea has earned plaudits all over England for his incredible performance this season. However according to reports, Real Madrid are keen to sign the Spaniard and are willing to break the bank in order to snatch him away from Van Gaal. With just 18 months left on his contract, it remains to be seen if De Gea, who was brought on by Sir Alex Ferguson from Atletico Madrid, will continue to stay at Manchester United.

However it seems that the Spaniard has caught Real Madridai??i??s eyes who are keen to bring De Gea to Santiago Bernabeu. According to Marca, David De Gea has been targeted by Real Madrid as the long time replacement for Iker Casillas at the Santiago Bernabeu. The report also highlighted that De Gea is keen on a move back to Spain and has already spoken to his agent Jorge Mendes who brought Ronaldo to Real Madrid from Manchester.
According to the latest reports, Real Madrid is willing to make a record bid to secure the services of David De Gea who looks set to take the responsibility from Iker Casillas for the Spanish national team in the years to come. With just 18 months left on his contract, Manchester United are probably looking to offer De Gea a bumper offer in order to tie him up at Old Trafford. He has been an instrumental player under Van Gaal with many judging him the best keeper in England, ahead of the likes of Thibaut Courtois and Hugo Lloris. Having made the nervous transition from a lanky, over-seas debutant, De Gea has flourished into a composed goal-keeper who has honed himself to make the right decisions in crunch situations. Hence United will ideally look to hold on to De Gea, who at 24 years of age, has his whole career in front of him.
Real Madrid on the other hand hold the golden ticket for the Spanish goalkeeper to come back home to Madrid. However, De Gea was brought up the ranks at Atletico Madrid and hence a move to Real Madrid could be complicated by the fact that he might not look to move to a club that has shared animosity with his child-hood club. Also, Real Madrid currently have in their ranks Iker Casillas and Keylor Navas and hence a move for De Gea at this point of time will make little sense for Carlo Ancelotti and Florentino Perez. Especially after Real Madrid got rid of Diego Lopez to make room for their captain in the starting eleven.
Hence it looks like David De Gea is set to stay at Manchester United and is likely to sign a big contract soon in order to consolidate his near future at the club. But at the age of 24, one can never rule out a move back to Spain for the Spaniard.
