Misfit Arsenal striker, Joel Campbell, could leave the Emirates for a potential move to Serie A giants Inter Milan, according to Daily Mail. Inter Milan have already opened discussions about taking the 22 year old and the Serie A club has had talks with Campbell’s representatives about aAi??A?5 million January move.
Joel Campbell who garnered interest from Benfica in the last summer window, revealed to Mirror Sports that he wants to leave Arsenal, as regular game time has eluded him despite being fit.
Campbell has only made one appearance for Arsenal and has been axed from the first team squad over the last three game. The Costa Rica star who highly impressed in World Cup 2014, has told his team mates that he wants to quit Arsenal for regular football elsewhere.
The 22 year old also had the chance to move away from the Emirates last summer window, but Arsene Wenger blocked the deadline day move by Benfica, in order to safeguard his attacking options.
But Campbell is poised to leave Arsenal for good now and it seems that his interest has possible suitors.
Inter Milan would be more than interested to take the Costa Rican International as they look to create a new Inter Milan, built around young talent.
Currently Inter Milan reel at ninth with only sixteen points on board. Although the Italian side has showcased rare signs of sheer quality, the team lacks the speed burst and trickery which could be completed with the signing of Joel Campbell.
Joe Campbell is a versatile forward and could be deployed in the wings as well as lead the striking department on his own. Although the 22 year old has not been prolific for his club sides, he has highly impressed fans and critics, alike, at the International stages.
Campbell has been part of Costa Rica U-17, U-20 and finally the Costa Rica National Team. Scoring 10 goals in 38 appearances for his nation, Campbell has been a star performer for the Latin American side.
Meanwhile there could be a last gasp move by last summer windows suitors Benfica, as they could try to sign Campbell and re-energise their ailing squad.
Lack of first team opportunities have often led players to switch clubs and as the scenario stands, one more players has been the victim of this case.
Joel Campbell by the looks of it, is set for a move to Italian giants Inter Milan, and would be looking to regain form and control under Inter Milan boss Walter Mazzari.
