“I think it was a very good game, although it was impacted by the sending off of two players. Itai??i??s very difficult playing in these conditions and the referee has to think about these things.” Garcia said in an interaction with ISL Media Team
“Itai??i??s a well-deserved point. Itai??i??s difficult to play here because Chennai is such a great team. It was very difficult to win the game entirely. Weai??i??re happy that we got the point but weai??i??re disappointed because we were so close to victory” the former Liverpool player added.
Atletico de Kolkata succumbed to a late draw against Chennaiyin as Kinghshuk’s tackle on a bombarding Mendoza, resulted in a well slotted penalty from Chennaiyin’s marquee player Elano.
Meanwhile , Atletico de Kolkata got their own penalty, early on as Mohammed Rafi was brought down by Shilton Paul in the 18 yard box. A calm and composed Garcia slotted the penalty right into the right hand side bottom corner, and gave the league leaders a narrow advantage.
“Well, it was a penalty, so Iai??i??m just happy that it went in!” said Garcia, on his goal.
