A resolute FC Pune City side entertain resurgent Delhi Dynamos in Match 50 of the Hero Indian Super League. There can be doubt that FC Pune City’s strongest link is their midfield. Patrolled by Euro 2004 Winner Kostas Katsouranis and Lenny Rodriguez, Pune’s midfield is arguably a prime reason for the resurgence. Amounting sixteen points, FC Pune City would look to grab another set of three points by force and elate themselves to nineteen.
Dropping David Trezeguet has been a blessing in disguise for the Hritik Roshan co-owned side as Dudu, a veteran of I-League, has successfully converted Pune’s goal scoring opportunities – which was a problem with Trezeguet. The Change of tactics by coach Harm van Veldhoven has certainly worked for the Delhi contingent. His decision to drop legendary Italian and marquee player Alessandro del Piero, whilst replacing him with Francis Fernandes, was a gamble which has reaped points for the Dynamos.
Driven by the agility, trickery and pace of Gustavo dos Santos, Delhi Dynamos feature a flamboyant attacking trio, powered by the midfield pairing of Hans Mulder and Dinis. Mulder, has been Delhi’s standout performer and his ability to pick a pass – be it 4 yards or 40, has benefited Mads Junker and the pacey Francis Fernandes.
