Though reports suggest that Di Maria is on his way out of Real Madrid, fans and players such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos have urged the Argentine to stay put and refuse offers from Manchester United.
The Argentine was unsettled this summer despite winning the Champions League with Madrid and reports suggested that he fell out with the board over his demands for a renewed contract. Despite the presence of Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo in the squad, it was Di Maria who was most effective throughout the season last year. While Gareth Bale lost the first half of the season due to his lack of fitness, Ronaldo lost steam towards the end following a string of Ai??injuries. Santiago Bernabeu too made their feelings known after reserving their loudest cheers for the Argentine who came on late into the second half against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday. Speaking after the match against Atletico Madrid, Ramos said that Di Maria is one of the best players in the team and the defender believes that the Argentine does not intend on leaving the club.
