Arsenal FC and Valencia fail with their attempt to sign Mirko Vucinic on loan as the striker decides to remain with Juventus till the end of this season.
Arsenalai??i??s priority in this transfer window was to sign a striker who can cover for Olivier Giroud upfront. The Frenchman has had to carry most of the burden upfront and the Gunners lack adequate replacement for him in the squad in case of injuries and suspension. For a side competition for the title with the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea, that is certainly not good enough and eventually this could turn out to be a big concern for Arsene Wenger.
A lot of strikers have been linked with the Gunners in this transfer window starting from Dimitar Berbatov to Mirko Vucinic. The Juventus forward was the most recent addition to the speculation list and it looked like his stint at Turin will come to an end in January. Following the arrival of Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente, Vucinic has made only four starts in the league this season and initial reports suggest that he is looking to leave Turin in search of regular first team action.Ai??Arsenal were believed to interested in signing him on loan at the end of this season. The Italian club were linked with a move for Southampton forward Pablo Osvaldo, who has recently been suspended by the English club following a training ground bust-up with Jose Fonte. Juventusai??i?? director Beppe Marotta has revealed the clubai??i??s interest in the Italian forward and also insisted that Vucinic will be allowed to leave if he wants an exit.

But now it seems that the Vucinic has decided to stay with Juventus for the remainder of this season, turning down Arsenalai??i??s offer to join them. It will be interesting to see if Arsene Wenger has a plan b in store after this rejection. We have certainly heard the last of this Vucinic saga.
