Reports in Italy and Germany suggest that Arsenal FC are losing out on the proposed loan deal for Lazio forward Miroslav Klose.
The 35-year-old striker has been one of the most prolific strikers in Europe during his career, but it would be interesting to see how much he can contribute to Arsenalai??i??s title race at this age if the reported move materializes.
The Gunners have been linked with a lot of striker in this window as Arsene Wenger seemed desperate to his fire power upfront. Arsenal needed someone who can support Olivier Giroud and provide a good back-up for the Frenchman if he suffers from injuries or suspension. This search for a short term solution has taken Arsenal to Italy on the deadline day and reports suggest that negotiator Dick Law is in Rome to push through a move for the veteran German international.
Klose has made 13 starts for Lazio in the league this season and has scored five goals. The former Bayern Munich striker will bring along with him a lot of experience and could prove to be the perfect target man upfront in the absence of Giroud. But according to renowned journalist Tancredi Palmeri, the Italian club will come under a lot of criticism from the fans if they sell Klose after parting ways with Hernanes.
