Arsenal FC manager Arsene Wenger is impressed with the performances of Yaya Sanogo, Joel Campbell and Calum Chambers in their opening Emirates Cup encounter.
Arsenal went off to fine start in the Emirates Cup with a 5-1 thrashing of Benfica. The Portuguese side, who won a historic treble last season, was taken apart by the speed and directness of Arsenal attack. The most promising part of this performance was the contribution of a host of young players, who are seemingly ready to set-up and fight for a place in the first team.
19-year old right back, Hector Bellerin, was arguably the best player on the pitch, while Yaya Sanogo scored four goals on the day. Joel Campbell and new signing Calum Chambers also produced impressive performances, as they look to provide selection headaches for Wenger ahead of the new season.
Wenger expressed his delight at Sanogoai??i??s performance and insist that all his hard work is starting to pay off.
ai???A headache is when they don’t play well. We have some decisions to make when everybody plays well, that’s true. But when everybody plays well that’s what we want. They need to play of course but they need to play here. Sanogo came last year on a free and we worked very hard for six months with him and from January onwards he was slowly getting better. Arsene Wenger is also impressed with the performance of Joel Campbell, who also should his promise during the World Cup for Costa Rica.

There has been a lot of speculation about Campbellai??i??s future at the Emirates with a host of looking to sign him on loan or permanently. When as whether there are any offers on the table for the wide forward, Wenger said: ai???No. There is no reason to let him goai???.
When questioned whether he will send him on another loan spell, he added: ai???No. I want to keep himai???.
Lastly Wenger also showered praise on Calum Chambers who made an impressive debut for the club, after his transfer from Southampton earlier this summer.
