Arsene Wengerai??i??s Arsenal is on verge of completing a move for Napoli and Chile striker Eduardo Vargas.
It was reported earlier that Spanish side Valencia is also interested in signing Edu Vargas from Napoli but it appears now that Arsenal is the only club in running as the La Liga outfit has turn its attention to Juventus striker Fernando Llorente instead.
Arsenal are ready to pay 12 million euros to Napoli for Vargas and the Italian club is also eager to sale the player who is no more required at Stadio San Paolo. Italian newspaper Tuttosport has also confirmed the progress made by Arsenal for the signature of Edu Vargas.

Edu Vargas joined Napoli in January 2013 but failed to impress the Italian club and eventually, he was loaned to Valencia last summer. Napoli have the likes of Gonzalo Higuain, Michu and Jose Callejon in their ranks and coach Rafa Benitez has no place for Vargas in his squad.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is looking for a quality striker to support Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud and considers Vargas as the perfect candidate to bolster his attack.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has said that he is desperate to reach the group stages of Champions League.
The Arsenal boss has some concerns over the recovery of his players from their opening game of Premier League against Crystal Palace but he claimed that the team is ready for new challenge.
“We are desperate to do it because we want to play in the Champions League and we know how big these games are,” Wenger told the club’s official website.
“We had to give a lot [against Crystal Palace] – hopefully we will recover and be ready for Tuesday night. No matter what it costs, we want to go through. We have always a difficult draw; we had Fenerbahce last year, this time we have Besiktas. It’s difficult.”
Arsenal will be playing against Besiktas in their Champions League qualifier tomorrow.
