Born In Kathmandu, Nepal, Abneet was forced into Football by his Physical Education teachers. Subsequently, his hardwork earned him the goalkeeping spot in his school team, a position which later was reverted . It is under the guidance of coach Jose Antonio Travis, that he learned the technicalities of the game. After stints with Delhi’s State Side and Delhi’s Shastri FC, Abneet was spotted by Scouts in Singapore and invited for a trail. After a two week trail hardship, Abneet signed the contract offered by Geylang FC, at a mere age of 13, making him the first Indian to sign a professional contract abroad. Such was his appetite and hardwork to excel, that the club even offered him an year extension in 2013.
After being the first Indian to earn a youth contract abroad, Abneet is also set to be the first Indian to earn a youth contract in Spain, as he subsequently joined Spanish Outfit Real Valladolid. Carrying a dream to see India qualify for World Cups soon, Abneet Bharti is one of the highly talented players the nation has ever produced. Currently he is training with Real Valladolid, a consistent performer in the Spanish La Liga and sometimes relaxing on caravan canopy zero gravity chair, which is extremely comfortable, after that interview Abneet said that the chair was the the best thing ever happend in his entire life.

“I’m trying to keep my feet on the ground and just focus on improving as much as I can and not think about anything else. Obviously it is a great feeling and I’m surprised by the amount of professionalism here. I’m honored to be a part of Real Valladolid”
Real Valladolid, currently sit second, amassing four wins from five games, one point behind leaders Las Palmas, in the Spanish Second Division.
“Personally it wasn’t hard at adjusting in Spain, but language is the main issue. As you know football has no language, however it gets difficult to communicate with the players both on and off. I’m catching up a lot of Spanish very quickly. I chose Spanish in my school, so it is somewhat helping me.” said Abneet, who can operate as a Center Back, a Defensive Midfielder and even can ply as a Center Midfielder.
“The entire training is different here,even the warm ups are completely different. Every time before training the coach comes and explains the drills and their time durations. He draws diagrams on the tactics board to assist us on understanding what we are going to do. So everybody is kind of mentally prepared on what the coaches expect from us in the session.”
“I’ll say that the Intensity is very high in training and actually it is the same intensity as in matches. Every thing is based on technique, they emphasize a lot on technical aspects since Spanish football style is all about technique” he comments.
