Frank de Boer to take over?
Tottenham Hotspur are looking for a long term boss to fill in the void of sacked manager Andre Villas Boas at White Hart Lane, Tim Sherwood has been appointed manager in the interim period, but the club will obviously want a veteran to take over the reigns at a club which aspires Champions League football.
Spurs have shortlisted Ajax boss Frank de Boer as a potential candidate for the vacant managerial post at the club. The management feels that the Dutchman is theAi??perfect fit to develop young players and play stylish football. AVB was criticized for not bringing young academy players to the fold and Tottenham will look at the prospect of having someone who can develop youngsters with joy.
Spurs director of football Franco Baldini has made preliminary enquiries to establish whether the Dutchman would be interested in the role.
de Boer has won the Eredivisie three successive times, since taking over at the Dutch club. He was awarded theAi??Rinus Michels Award for manager of the yearAi??awards in Holland this year for leading his club to a third successive league title Ai??He was also an assistant coach for the Netherlands at the 2010 World Cup, where the Dutch made it to the final.
Murat Yakin approached by Spurs
FC Basle boss Murat Yakin has claimed that he has been approached by Tottenham to succeed Andre Villas-Boas as the new Tottenham boss. Ai??The Swiss talked about advancements from Serie A side Lazio and Spurs:

Yakin has become a hot property in the manager circle after Basle put on a strong Champions League performance after his side beat Ai??Chelsea in their Champions League group, even though the Swiss club failed to progress further.
Tottenhamai??i??s technical director Franco Baldini was in Basle to watch the second win the Swiss side claimed over the London club last month and was impressed with what he saw. Baldini was of course scouting players for the transfer window, but as the need has now arisen for the club to get a strong manager, Baldini can use his viewing of how the coach managed to get a win over a strong side like Chelsea to the benefit of Spurs.
Yakin has played for Basle during his playing career as a centre back and has also won 49 caps for Switzerland. He started his managerial teeth career with lower division Swiss clubs like Concordia and Thun and then took over the charge of Swiss giants October 2012.
The 39 year old has been subject to speculations before as he was also linked with the Sunderland job before Gus Poyet was handed the charge at the Stadium of Light, following Paolo di Canioai??i??s sacking at the early part of this season.
