Bayern Munichai??i??s two goal win over Augsburg in the German Cup was soured by the fact that their star winger Arjen Robben suffered a serious injury in the early minutes of the fixture.Ai?? Giving Bayern the lead early on in the game after wriggling past the Augsburg defence, Robben suffered a nasty collision that saw him being carried out of the pitch.
Released for a one-on-one situation in the 13th minute of the game, Robben was charged at by the Augsburg goalkeeper, Marwin Hitz, and the ensuing tackle caught Robben awkwardly, ruling him out for the rest of the match. Visibly in pain, Robben had to be carried off from the pitch after suffering a deep gash on his right knee. Though there was a possibility of ligament damage, tests later revealed that it was a deep gash and that the winger would be out of action for six weeks.
Currently on a brilliant form, Robben has scored a total of 13 goals so far this season. The injury will come as a rude shock to Pep Guardiola who will now have to plan a starting eleven without his charismatic Dutch winger.

Pep Guardiola had shown faith in the youngster which saw him make six appearances before he was ruled out for six weeks with an injury.
