Renowned Journalist Martin Charquero Claims Luis Suarez Wonai??i??t Leave Liverpool

Martin Charquero has revealed that Luis Suarez might be close to ending this transfer saga by signing an extension with Liverpool FC.

The Luis Suarez transfer saga has seemingly taken another unexpected twist. The Uruguayan international has grabbed the headlines throughout this summer, expressing his desire to leave the club – initially blaming the English media for his departure. First he was linked with Real Madrid, but with the Spanish club showing little interest in the Liverpool striker, Arsenal was touted as his future destination. As this situation turned ugly, Suarez said he was verbally assured by the club that he will be sold if the club fails to reach the Champions League last season.

Brendan Rodgers came down heavily on Suarez for showing disrespect to the club and the supporters and forced him to train away from first team squad. Liverpool stood by their decision to not sell Suarez to any of the rivals in the Premier League, as Suarez was also asked to apologize for his behavior to the fans and the club, but reports suggested that the Uruguayan international refused to do so.

Now in an unexpected turn of events Suarez could sign a new contract and extend his stay at Anfield. “I don’t know what is going to happen over the next few weeks.

“But I am really confident he won’t be going to anyone else in England.” – Gerrard said.

The England international also assured that he would do everything in his capabilities to retain Suarez, if he can influence his decision. He also emphasized on the fact that the club needs to retain its best players in order to compete at the top.

“He is one of the best players in the world, so I can understand why clubs are showing an interest in him,” he said. “If I can use my influence to try to make him stay, of course I will do that.

“I enjoy playing with him and I don’t want him to go. For Liverpool to be successful and to keep moving forward, we need to keep our best players.” – Gerrard added.

Although either of Liverpool or Suarez are yet to confirm this news of him signing an extension, this can come across as a huge blow for Arsenal. As the transfer window approaches its end, the Gunners are yet to make any significant signing that was expected from them this summer. Arsenal have already lost out on Higuain, Jovetic and now losing out on Suarez could mean the Arsene Wenger will have to rely on Giroud upfront. Suarez and Rooney were the only big name strikers available in the market, and the Manchester United striker is likely to join Chelsea.
