Yohan Cabaye Would Welcome A Move To Manchester United

Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye has said that he would be interested in a move to Manchester United this summer.

Yohan Cabaye has perhaps been Newcastle Unitedai??i??s best French recruit in recent times. The 27-year-old joined the English club back in 2011, after winning the Ligue 1 title with Lille. Since his arrival, he has been amongst the best midfielders in the Premier League and has made a name for himself for being a free-kick specialist. Cabaye was one of the driving forces behind Newcastle United in the 2011-12 season, when the Magpies surpassed all expectations and finished fourth in the league.

The last season though ended on a disappointing note as Newcastle United finished just two places above the relegation zone. Cabaye missed a big part of the season due to injuries and he took time to recuperate from it. Ai??The 27-year-oldai??i??s future at St Jamesai??i?? Park has been up for speculations recently as the likes of PSG and Monaco have been linked with him ai??i?? even Arsenal were once linked with signing the midfielder, although their interest has faded in recent times.

Manchester United are reportedly the latest club to be interested in Yohan Cabaye. The lack of depth in Unitedai??i??s midfield has been questioned a lot, and it was clear that the reigning Premier League champions were too dependent on Carrick last season. David Moyes is reportedly in the market for a midfielder as he looks to strengthen the only possible weak point in the squad ai??i?? and Cabaye is believed to be one of the players who is on his short list.

The French international would be a fine addition. He is a brilliant passer of the ball and is good defensively as well, plus his ability from set-pieces comes as a bonus. But reports suggest that Cabaye is only a back-up option for United, whose primary target is Dutch international Kevin Strootman.

Cabaye though is more than interested to joining the Manchester based club. In a recent interview, the midfielder revealed his admiration for the club has said that he would be happy to take up the challenge of joining them. When asked about Unitedai??i??s interest, he said ai??i??

“Yes, of course. I’ve liked this club for a long time, I like what they do.

“The boss has left but they have appointed a very good successor and he did some good things with Everton.

“They are always well played among the big clubs. Yes, for sure, it would be an interesting challenge.”

The midfielder also stated that he is unaware of interest from PSG and Monaco, and that he would prefer to stay in England.

“I have no direct contact with anyone; maybe my agents are currently in the know.

“As for me, I am here listening. I like England as well. I will need to look at the situation but you never know.”
