Liverpool FC are interested in signing PSG forward Jeremy Menez, who is reportedly unsettled at the French club.
Menez, who has little over a year left in his current contract, is reportedly looking for a move away from Paris. The former Roma player has said in an interview that he will decide on his future at the end of this season.
“At the end of the season we will clear the air with everyone involved in my future” ai??i?? Menez was quoted in Italian website TMW.
Pierre Bernes, agent of Jeremy Menez, believes that the Frenchman is not short on offers, with a host of clubs interested in him.
“Menez will not be without an employer. There are teams interested in him, so we will wait until the season finishes and see what to do.” ai??i?? Bernes said.
Liverpool is reportedly one of those teams interested in him. Brendan Rodgers is heading towards an important summer, and he has already stated that he is looking to make few ai???qualityai??i?? signings as the club looks to continue its gradual progress under the former Swansea manager.
The Merseyside club are looking at Menez as an option as they look to add more depth to the squad upfront. The fact that the 25-year-old doesnai??i??t have a long contract means Liverpool can snap him up in a potentially bargain deal.
What Menez brings to the table is versatility and pace. The French international can play all across the frontline ai??i?? as a center forward and also in the role of the wide forward on either side of the pitch. He has blistering pace and skips past defenders with ease ai??i?? add to that he is also a two footed player. The only aspect of the game he needs to work upon is his finishing; he can be erratic at times with wayward shooting.
There is no doubt about the fact that Menez is an highly talented player but perhaps his biggest drawback and perhaps one of the biggest reason behind why he hasnai??i??t been able to settle at any particular club for too long is his volatile temperament. He has a history of training ground bust-ups (specially at Roma) and can become invisible during a match if he is not up for it mentally. So Rodgersai??i?? management skill will be tested if the Frenchman arrives at Anfield in the summer.
