Liverpool FC transfer target Jonathan Dos Santos has expressed his desire for more first team action and is set to decide on his FC Barcelona future at the end of this season.
Jonathan Dos Santos is one of the most highly rated youngster to come up through La Masia in recent times. The Mexican international joined the Catalan club as a 12 year old kid and has made gradual progress up through the youth teams of the club. But since making his debut for the senior team back in 2009, under Pep Guardiola, he is yet to grab a permanent place in the squad, and off-course he is not an exception, most of the talented footballers of his age group are facing similar issue at Barcelona ai??i?? it is the problem of plenty.
So, like many other youngsters before him, Dos Santos will have to eventually decide whether he should move on to other opportunities in order to get more first team action. Especially with the World Cup looming large on the horizon, it is imperative for him to play more regularly in order to boost his chances of grabbing a place in the final squad.
The 22-year-old has stated his desire for more first team action next season in an interview and will decide on his future at the club at the end of current season. Interestingly, his brother Giovani dos Santos have also left Barcelona at the age of 19, to play in the Premier League, although things didnai??i??t work out quite well for him at Spurs as well.

The Mexicanai??i??s above statement will seem like an opportunity for Liverpool, who have been linked with a move for the midfielder this summer. The Merseyside club have recently concentrated on promoting youth in their first team and they could lure away the talented Barcelona midfielder by promising him a regular place in the starting line-up. His arrival will mean more competition for Joe Allen, who has been fairly average this season, also the fact that he play as a holding midfielder would mean that Liverpool will now have a proper cover Lucas, who has missed a lot of games in the past two seasons due to injury.
But Liverpool are sure to face competition for Dos Santos, if the Mexican does decide to leave the Catalan giants next season. Real Betis and Malaga are reportedly interested in signing the midfielder as well, although recent reports from Spain suggest that the English club are the favourites to land him.
