The Spanish play-maker does not regretting switching to the Allianz Arena after seeing his development stagnate during his Camp Nou spell
Thiago Alcantara has claimed that leaving Barcelona for Bayern during the summer transfer window is the best decision of his life. In the press conference ahead of the Champions League tie against Manchester City, the midfielder said that Pep Guardiola’s presence at the helm for Bayern influenced his choice of club to a great extent.
“It was the best decision of my life to come here to Munich. I am very happy here. Everybody knows the big history of the club,” the midfielder said at a press conference.
“I know the coach and the team is really strong ai??i?? that is why I decided to come here. I have known Guardiola since I was 18 years old. I learned so much from him. “

The young midfielder, who was at the epicenter of a transfer tussle between United and Bayern over the summer, has had a rather unfortunate start to life at the Allianz Arena due to an ankle injury, which kept him out of action for nearly two months. Talking about the satisfaction of having started the game at Werder Bremen in the weekend, Thiago said-
“What’s most important to me is playing in the starting XI, whichever position I play in. I play wherever the coach asks me”
The former Barcelona man joined La Masia at the age of 14, before making his first team breakthrough at the age of 18. After showing glimpses of his talent, Thiago was expected to become a more regular feature in the first team set-up at the Nou Camp but a series of injuries coupled with a loss of form saw the midfielder on the fringes of the starting XI.
A move to Bayern may just prove to be the tonic his career needs to shoot off once again, and despite the intense competition for places at Munich, expect Thiago to make the cut in the near future.
