97. Mohun Bagan confirms the signing of Kerala duo Wahid Sali and Rino Anto.
Mohun Bagan AC has confirmed the signing of two of the brightest defenders from Kerala. Former ONGC player Wahid Sali was a hot property in the window chased by the likes of Churchill Brothers and Mohammedans among many. But the player seem to have preferred playing time over money as he chose Mohun Bagan for next season. With Nirmal Chettri likely to depart, Mohun Bagan has covered the right back slot for next season. The addition of Eagles FC defender Rino Anto might be puzzling to few quarters, but the Santhosh trophy star had a stellar season in Kerala to earn his way back into the national reckoning. The return of former Eagles coach Joe Paul Ancheri to Mohun Bagan camp has also increased Rino Anto’s chances at Kolkata. The versatile defender is expected to provide strength in depth for the Mariners.

99. Mohun Bagan releases goalkeeper Arindam Bhattacharya.
Mohun Bagan AC has released Goalkeeper Arindam Bhattacharya as he prepares for a life in IPL styled football tournament. Earlier Bagan had secured the services of experienced campaigner Sandip Nandy for the next season. The addition of Nandy is considered as an improvement in the goalkeeping department for Kolkata giants. If rumours are to be believed Arindam Bhattacharya was heading for the 2 month league, and his release is expected to fasten the process.

100. Abhra Mondal returns to East Bengal.
Former East Bengal custodian Abhra Mondal has returned to Lal-Holud brigade after spending 2 years in Pune. The Pune FC goalkeeper was facing tough competition from the likes of Shahin Lal Meloy for the number 1 spot at I-League runners up. Eventhough he made his loan move permanent last summer, he couldn’t make that number 1 spot his own and had settle for 13 appearances in I-League. The 26-year old keeper returns to East Bengal, where he spend 6 years before joining Pune FC. The situation in East Bengal is very similar as the competition for Goalkeepers position is even tougher in Kolkata with Gurpreet Singh Sandhu and Abhijit Mondal sharing the responsibilities. The addition of Abhra is going to make the competition even tougher, and it remains to be seen whether all 3 custodians are going to remain in the football capital.

The former Manchester City, Royal Antwerp, Sydney FC and Melbourne Heart defender is a player blessed with good leadership qualities and is expected to play a vital role in Dempo’s transition phase. Papas and Dempo has promised more quality signings ahead of the new season and his indepth knowledge in A-League is expected to bring more quality here.
