Arsenal is now in pole position to finalize the transfer of Real Madrid striker GonzaloAi??Higuain. Arsenal officials are expected to fly to Madrid on the weekend to tie up the final details of this transfer. Manager Arsene Wenger may also make an appearance during the negotiation process.
The Argentine striker has been a prolific scorer in Santiago Bernabeu but both parties have decided on a mutual separation this summer. Higuain is reportedly valued at 30 million Euros by Real but Arsenal is likely to make a bid for an amount less than 25 million Euros. The Gunners have already held talks with the player and it is believed that Higuain as already accepted the personal terms with them. Higuain may get a 4 year contract with 130,000 pounds/week salary, a club record. Carlo Ancelotti is expected to join Real Madrid some time next week and once he joins he is likely to sanction his transfer which is when it will become official.
