After failing with their attempt to land Luis Suarez, Arsenal FC have not turned their attention towards Real Madrid duo Karim Benzema and Angel Di Maria.
After summer of promises, Yaya Sanogo remains Arsene Wengerai??i??s only recruit in this transfer window till date. But reports suggest that the Gunners can spend close to A?100 million in the remaining few days of this transfer window.
A new striker has been Wengerai??i??s priority this summer, but they have already missed out on a number of their transfer targets. Higuain has joined Napoli, Wayne Rooney is expected to join Chelsea, while Luis Suarez is unlikely to be sold by Liverpool. Arsene Wenger has now turned his attention towards Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema, the 25-year-old forward joined Real Madrid from Lyon back in 2009 in a deal of ai??i??35Ai??million.
The Frenchman has scored 49 goals in 88 appearances for the Spanish club and is currently the main striker for Carlo Ancelotti after the departure of Higuain this summer. Arsene Wenger has been a long-time admirer of the Frenchman and the London club are reportedly preparing a A?40 million bid for the striker. Moreover, Madrid also have a very talented Spanish forward in Alvaro Morata, who is expected to make a big impact this season.
Arsenal are also interested in signing Argentine winger Angel Di Maria from the Spanish capital. The wingerai??i??s future at Bernabeu has been in doubts since Madrid have been linked with Bale. Di Maria is expected to leave the club if and when Bale arrives. Arsene Wenger is looking to snap up the winger with a reported bid of ai??i??25Ai??million. German media is also reporting that Podolski is expected to leave the Emirates this summer if Arsenal can sign a replacement for the German international. Schalke are believed to be interested in signing him, and if Arsenal does manage to sign Di Maria, it could be the end of Podolskiai??i??s short spell at the club.
Meanwhile, Arsene Wenger has also confirmed that Luis Suarez is unlikely to arrive at the Emirates this summer.

The Arsenal manager has however accepted the fact that squad is short in numbers at the moment, but he insisted that there will be a lot of activities before the transfer window closes.
“Quality wise we do not need, but numbers wise we are short.
“We lost Arteta and Diaby. We are without three international midfielders. We will try and bring one in but we are working on that. What you have to understand is that there is still a long way to go.
