Arsenal Transfers – Dani Alves Wants Jack Wilshere At Barcelona

Barcelona right back, Dani Alves, has expressed his desire to see Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere at the Catalan club.

Jack Wilshere is the man of the moment at Arsenal presently. The whole world is seemingly talking about this 21-year-old boy from Hitchin. It seemed only yesterday when he made his debut for senior team, yet he is the fulcrum of this Arsenal side.

The world perhaps first took notice of this young midfielder back in 2010-11 season when he put up a wonderful display against Barcelona as the Gunners beat them at the Emirates. It was only a sign of things to come and now it seems that performance against the Catalan giants has left a lasting impression on Barcelona full-back Dani Alves.

The Brazilian has lavished praise on the young midfielder in a recent interview. Alves believes Wilshere has the potential to achieve similar greatness like Xavi and Iniesta. The Barcelona right-back has also suggested that he would love to see Wilshere at Camp Nou.

The last part of his statement would surely not go down well with the Arsenal fans, who still remember the prolonged transfer saga of Cesc Fabregas. It started in similar fashion with Barcelona players talking about how they would love to see Fabregas return back.

But Wilshereai??i??s case is evidently different. Unlike Fabregas, Wilshere is an Arsenal graduate. The 21-year-old has recently signed a long term contract which would keep at the club till 2018. Perhaps more than the contract, which hardly means anything nowadays, Wilshere is a fan of the club and has repeatedly reiterated his desire to end his career at Arsenal.

Interestingly both Arsenal and Barcelona have already been linked with lot of transfer speculation for next season. While the Gunners are reportedly eyeing a move for Valdes and Villa, Barcelona have been linked with Arsenal captain Thomas Vermaelen.

Even if Arsenal fail to qualify for Champions League next season, Wilshere future at the Emirates wouldnai??i??t be under any doubt. Taking of which ai??i?? Jack Wilshere will have to bear Arsenalai??i??s hopes in the Champions League this season as the Gunners face off against German giants Bayern Munich. Even Bayern midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger is aware of the threat that the Englishman possesses.

ai???I would say that in his position, he [Wilshere] is one of the best in the world. He was out for a year but he is very difficult to play against. We will try to minimize the effect he has on the game.

ai???His qualities have a lot to do with his size as in England usually you have players who are 1.85m. Jack has different movements, a very good left foot and is very dynamic. He has a real eye too. he can see the players around him.ai??? ai??i?? Schweinsteiger said.
