Real Madrid are lining up Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea as the long term replacement of Iker Casillas, according to reports in the Dailymail.
Although there has been no official confirmation from Manchester United, David De Gea is reportedly homesick. The Spanish U-21 international hasnai??i??t been a permanent fixture in the Manchester United starting line-up as Sir Alex Ferguson has rotated between him and Anders Lindegaard.
Iker Casillas has already earmarked De Gea as his long term replacement in the Spanish national team. Casillas firmly believes that, with the right guidance, De Gea has the talent to make it to the top.

Mendes brokered Jose Mourinhoai??i??s move from Porto to Chelsea following which he was also involved in the transfer of Carvalho, Ferreira, Tiago and Maniche (all his clients) to the London side. Mendes was also the man behind the transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid. All these history between Mourinho and Mendes make De Geaai??i??s move all the more likely.
Earlier this month David De Gea has expressed his desire to win the No.1 spot in the starting eleven permanently. He revealed that he is working hard in the training ground to impress his manager and said he is slowly ai???rediscoveringai??i?? his form.

Although from the outset it would seem to be a sensible decision for De Gea to move back to Spain with Real Madrid and develop under the guidance of Iker Casillas, it would mean far less playing time for the 21-year-old. Worryingly for De Gea [and most other Spanish goalkeepers], Casillas has already stated his desire to play for eight more years. Competing with Casillas for first team action is certainly not the same as competing with Lindegaard.
These are the type of decisions that can make or break oneai??i??s career in football. David De Gea might soon have to make one if Real Madrid come knocking at the door of Manchester United for the Spaniard.
