PFA chairmanAi??Clarke Carlisle has backed Rio Ferdinand for making a personal decision of not wearing theAi??Kick It Out campaign T-shirt ahead of the game against Stoke City. The English defender came under heavy criticism from his manager for his stance as Sir Alex claimed to be embarrassed and promised to deal with Ferdinand in due course of the week. However, the PFA chief felt that Rio was within his right to do what he did.

Edin Dzeko Does Not Want To Be A Super-Sub
Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko has stated his reluctance to constantly perform the so called super-sub role for his club. The Bosnian was instrumental in the champions’ come from behind win at the Hawthorns as he came off the bench to score a brace in the final ten minutes to give his team an improbable victory. The former Wolfsburg man has scored four of his six goals as a substitute this season, but wants to start more games for the Blues.
“The manager is there to pick the team and I’m there when the team needs me, but I was never a super-sub even before I came to Manchester City.Ai??I always used to play from the beginning and I scored a lot of goals – not as a sub. In the last few games the situation has been like this and I’m just happy to be scoring goals. But I will never be a super-sub, I want to play.”
