Former Brazilian champions FC Botafogo will be participating in this year’s IFA Shield. Their U23 team will be coming to Kolkata to participate in the Shield. As per latest reports it will start from 4th March. No date has been fixed yet as to when the Kolkata Football League’s lasgt few matches will take place.
It is looking less and less likely that PLS will be starting on scheduled date. IFA and main sponsors CMG had a meeting in Kolkata on Monday regarding the same issue. International players will be notified regarding the postponement soon.
Representatives of 12 I-League clubs will be meeting AIFF on Tuesday regarding the format of next year’s I-League. Reliance IMG officials will also be present in this meeting.

Mohammedan SC wrapped up their I-League Division Two first round in style after thrashing PIFA 3-0. Under Aloke Mukherjee Mohammedan are unbeaten in their last 23 matches in all competitions and quaified to the final round after gathering 19 points in 7 matches. Other than Mohammedan, United Sikkim, Aizawl FC, Vasco and Royal Wahingdoh have also made it to final round. Kalight MS and SESA FA are fighting for the last remaining spot.
Sporting Clube de Goa thrashed Goa Velha SC 8-0 in GFA U20 League thanks for a hattrick by Cliff Fernandes. Salgaocar defeated Margao SC 5-2 in another match.
