Prayag United’s influential midfielder Lalkamal Bhowmik has dislocated his collar-bone in the match against HAL SC. He can be sidelined for one and half months.

More superstars have been confirmed to play in Premier League Soccer. Ex-Real Madrid and Spain star Fernando Morientes and ex-Inter, Parma, Chelsea and Argentina striker Hernan Crespo have also signed for the Bengal club and will take part in PLS. Along with these three, other icon footballers will be Juan Pablo Sorin, Robert Pires, Robby Fowler and Jay Jay Okocha. These icon footballers along with icon coaches (which includes Arsenal legend Tony Adams, the only player to win the English league title in three separate decades) will be put up for an IPL styled auction.

Complexities have risen in Edmilson’s move to East Bengal. It has come out that the Brazilian is still contracted with Southern Samity and has also taken advance from Royal Wahingdoh to play for them. East Bengal is trying to reach an agreement with both clubs.

After giving Rs 1 crore to each of the big three clubs, the West Bengal Goverment has now planned to hand Rs 2 lakh to 700 smaller clubs in West Bengal. The money will be given to these clubs on 30th January.

Mohun Bagan’s Ashim Biswas has been ruled out for 10 days because of health related problems.

Manchester United Soccer School Tournament was inaugurated in Mumbai on 13th. Club legend Gary Neville was present as part of the opening ceremony.

Times of India reports that Lionel Messi can be back in India to play another match, this time in Barcelona colours. An Indian sports firm is trying to negotiate a deal with FC Barcelona to bring them on an Indian tour after the Champion’s League ends. Final decision is likely to be made in next week.

The AIFF selected Hilal on the basis of his coaching and AFC qualification background for the programme which is scheduled to be held in New Delhi from January 13 to 16.
In the event which is being organised by AIFF for promoting the coaching standards and making qualified coaches aware about the shortfalls in Indian coaching arena, 22 coaches from all over the India have been selected. The valley based JK Bank football coach is part of those 22 and he will work in programme under AIFF technical director Rob Bonn.”

Shillong Times reports that local fans will need to pay more to watch Shillong Lajong’s home matches.
“Instead of the usual prices of Rs 50, 100 and 150, Shillong Lajong team management have raised the the rates to Rs 80 for opened gallery, Rs 150 for covered gallery with cement surface, and Rs 200 for the covered gallery with chairs.
ai???Lajong team management is spending lot of money to run the club and hence a rise in the price of tickets was unavoidable. The new rates have been fixed at the minimum possible under the circumstances,ai???
