Manuel Gomesai??i??s side squandered a golden opportunity to take a giant stride towards claiming the top position in the table in the last round, as the Red Machine from Goa succumbed to their fifth defeat against lowly lying Mumbai FC. Churchill Brothers are now a massive seven points adrift of the leaders and arch rivals Dempo SC, and are stranded at the fifth place. The Goans welcome bottom placed HAL at the Nehru Stadium for their round twenty fixture, and will start as favorites to clinch all three points on Saturday. Churchill Brothers have lost two of their last five games in the league and would be looking to go into the break with a win and a hope that other direct challengers drop some points in this round, eventually reducing the gap.

Churchill Brothers expected line-up: Arindam (GK), Denzil Franco, Ravanan Raj, Naveen, Raju, Beto, Steven Dias, Lenny, ND Opara, M.Rafi, Henry

The Bangalore side succumbed to their twelfth loss of the season in the last round against Air India at the Balewadi Sports Complex, Pune. The team is now playing for pride because their relegation is almost confirmed as the Pailan Arrows are already safe, due to the AIFF rule. HAL coach Thyagraj would be hoping that his side finishes the season on a winning and positive note. The Bangalore Greens have only managed to hoard a lone victory in the entire season, and it is very unlikely that the young side picks up any points in Goa come Saturday, but I-League has surely witnessed upsets of greater proportions in past few rounds. Thyagrajai??i??s team would be hoping to throw cat among the pigeons if they manage to collect points on Saturday.

HAL expected line-up: Promod P (GK), Ramesh, Chandandeep, James, Bijoy, Pravin ,Keneth, Vinod, Hamza, Meetei, Rohit.

The side from Meghalaya conjured up a comfortable victory over the young Pailan Arrows in Kolkata in the last round. New recruit Aussie Mathew Mayora, who smacked in his first I-League goal at Krirangan last Saturday, would be our man to watch out for, as Shillong lajong prepare to take on East Bengal at home in round twenty. Liberian Johnny Menyongar was once again the stand out performer for the Pradhyum Reddy mentored side, as he kept orchestrating all the moves from the centre of the park. Shillong Lajong currently is parked at the tenth spot with twenty four points from their nineteen games, and will hope to replicate another strong performance at home and topping it up with all three points this time around. Right back W. Passah is suspended for this match, and will be replaced by Subhas Singh. With India striker Sushil Singh and midfield maestro Rennedy Singh joining in the transfer window, Shillong Lajong are more than just mere roll-overs at home.

Shillong Lajong expected line-up: Soram (GK), Subhas, Lalram Luaha, Rennedy Singh, Romenjit, Lyngdoh, Lalchhuanmawia, Matthew, C. Lalnunmawia, Lallawmzuala, Sushil Singh.

East Bengal coach Trevor Morgan was left lamenting a brave refereeing decision which disallowed Tolgeyai??i??s goal, which could have clinched all three points in the derby last Sunday. With East Bengal and Mohun Bagan eventually reducing the gap with table toppers Dempo after the last round, the Lal- Holud brigade maintain their second spot in the league table with thirty five points from nineteen scheduled games played so far. East Bengal would be missing their more than influential mid-fielder Penn Orji for this tricky away fixture, along with another first team starter ai??i?? Harmanjot Khabra. This could really impact the mid field engine. Sanju Pradhan is expected to be drafted in to replace Penn and he will look forward to make a positive impact. A victory for the Britai??i??s team could extend pressure on the Goans at the top, who kick off their round 20 encounter on Sunday.

East Bengal expected line-up: Gurpreet (GK), Saikat, Okpara, Gurwinder, Robert, Paite, Sanju, Mehtaab, Vashum, Robin, Tolgey.

Prasanta Banerjeeai??i??s side continued theirAi??tipsy-turvyAi??campaign and managed to keep their title hopes alive by securing a point in the derby last Saturday. Odafa Okolie did all the possible justice to his ai???much talked aboutai??i?? price tag when he fired in the all important goal, past the diving Gurpreet Singh Sandhu to bring the visitors level, which finally proved enough to garner a much needed point. The Mariners are still on the third position in the table with thirty four points. A victory against Mumbai FC at YBK on Saturday could see Subrata Bhattacharya mentored side leapfrog East Bengal if the latter slip up in their tough away match. Mohun Bagan will be without India striker Sunil Chettri in this home match as theAi??flamboyant strikerAi??Ai??is suspended for this match. Barreto, Lima and Nabi all are out injured as well. Ashim Biswas is expected to partner Odafa upfront tomorrow.

Mohun Bagan expected line-up: Sangram (GK), Surkumar, Anwar, Kingshuk, Dhanarajan, Masih, Daniel, Snehashish, Jewel, Odafa, Ashim

Khalid Jamilai??i??s side did a huge favor to the title chasing pack when the side from Mumbai breached the Churchill Brothers defense twice to garner their fifth victory of the season. The emphatic victory, first one after six match losing streak, witnessed Cavin Lobo and Dhanachandra Singh score goals. The coastal side will expect to put in another gritty and determined performance riding on the back of a robust victory in the last round. Mumbai FC is currently six points clear of Chirag United Kerala with seven rounds of matches left. Khalid Jamil would be hoping that his side go into the international break with their chins up and try to close out an average season strongly.

Mumbai FC expected line-up: Nidhinlal (GK), Dane, Amiri, Peter Siddiquii, Kima, Kuttimani, Cavin, Noel Wilson, Ebi Sukore, Abhishek, G. Friday

The resignation of SukhwinderAi??Singh from Pailan Arrows could not have come at a worse time for the team, especially because of the fact that their upcoming fixture is against the table topper Dempo SC. Sukhwinderai??i??s departure was pretty much on the cards since his team is going through a woeful run this season but one still expected him to stay on for arguably his sideai??i??s toughest encounter of the league. The reigns of Arrows have been passed on to Sujit Chakraborty and their goalkeeping coach Tanumoy Basu till the end of the season. Both these men face a daunting task in their very first match in charge of the Arrows as they will be playing hosts to the league leaders. The team has managed to score mere eight goals this season and finding a goal scorer would be the biggest concern for both Basu and Chakraborty. Bijendra Rai has been ruled out for this match after he picked up his second caution against Shillong and Milan Singh is expected to start in his place on Sunday. Sabeeth has failed miserably to live up to the expectations of the management but due to lack of depth in the squad he might feature in the playing eleven alongside Ajay Singh.

Ai??Pailan Arrows expectedline-up:Ai??Naveen Kumar (GK), Rajib, Lalrozama, Prathamesh, Gurtej, Souvik., Bikramjeet, Jibon, Milan, Sabeeth, Ajay Singh.

Dempo squandered a golden chance to strengthen their lead at the top after they went down against Pune FC at the Fatorda Stadium last week. Their loss at home was the shock of the week and it left both the players as well as their fans very much disappointed. One expects Dempo to let out all their anguish against the Arrows in the upcoming fixture. The four time champions picked up a comfortable victory over the arrows when both the sides met in round four and expect them to go all out against Pailan this time as the title racing is getting extremely close. Debabrata Roy is suspended for this match but his absence should not affect the leaders as Arrows has the worst goal scoring record in the season.

Ai??Dempo expected line-up:Ai??Subhasish (GK), Gawli, Rowilson, Creson, Naik, Carvalho, Densil, Climax, Anthony, Ranti, Koko.

SALGAOCAR SC

SPORTING CLUBE DE GOA

Fatorda Stadium, Goa

Kick Off-: 12th February, 2012- 3:50 PM IST

The defending Champions from Goa take on Sporting Clube de Goa in a fixture that could propel them to second position on the table if things go well for them in couple of other matches. Salgaocar have been in sublime form since the turn of new year and got the better of Prayag in their previous encounter – which lifted them to fourth position. The biggest cause for concern for Karim Bencherifa would be the absence of Irungbam Meitei Singh at the back and Sueoka at the top of the field. Both of them picked up their second booking against Prayag and will have to sit out of this encounter. The suspension of Sueoka can really hurt Salgaocar as the Japanese has been the biggest reason behind the Championai??i??s revival. Pride will be at stake as it is a derby and rest assured that Sporting will try to match the defending Champions tackle for tackle.

Salgaocar expected line-up: Karanjit Singh (GK), Sabrosa, Augustin, Jaspal, Nicolau, Biswajit, Francis, Rocus, Ishfaq, Junior, Chidi

Sporting decimated Chirag United Club Kerala by three goals to nil and are just touching distance away from the first half of the league table. A win here for the Flaming Oranje will put them beside some of the big names of Indian football on the table, which will add as an incentive for Ekendra Singhai??i??s men. Sporting have their complete squad available for selection and the absence of Sueoka certainly evens out the contest. It is a tough match to call and THT believes that even a single mistake from either of the side can swing the match in the favour of their opponents in this Goan derby.

SC Goa expected line-up: Ashok (GK), Mathew, Samananda, Peixoto, Kalu, Moga, Adil Khan, Jovel, Warundeep, Anthony, Keita.

A win against the struggling HAL Bangalore helped Air India to pick up three points over the weekend and they would be hoping to continue on with their winning momentum against yet another bottom lying side Chirag United. The Pilots will be without their captain Lamine Tamba who is facing one match suspension. Tamba has been fantastic at the back for them so far this season so he will be dearly missed. Meanwhile, Santosh Kashyap will be little relieved as Pratik Chaudhari make a come back into the side after serving his suspensions. Striker Manandeep Singh will not be available as he is set for national camp.Ai??It is a must win match for Air India if they want to finish in the top half on the league and the return of Manandeep would prove crucial for the pilots. New recruit Emmanuel Anosike, a nigerian defender, is also expected to start from bench.

Air India expected line-up: Pawan Kumar (GK), Oken Singh, Collin, Pratik, Shafi, Bijoy, Dias, Omi, Kali, Alaudeen, Sandeep, Ezeh Henry.

Chirag United need these three points more than ever, else their fate could be sealed for the season. With just eleven points from nineteen rounds, the Kerala outfit has really struggled to cope up with the rest of the pack this time around. Despite being at the twelfth place, Chirag are in the relegation zone since Pailan Arrows cannot be relegated. Asif K, Isaac Boakye, Jimshad and Faisal all return to the squad after serving suspensions and Pakir Ali would be hoping this could turn the fortunes of his side, who at the moment, are the favourites along with HAL Bangalore to get relegated to the second division of the I-league.

Chirag United expected line-up: Arindam (GK), Issac, Jagdeep, Faisal, Gurjinder, Charles, James Singh, Asif, Anil Kumar, Jimshad, David Sunday.

PRAYAG UNITED

Balewadi Complex, Pune

Kick Off-: 12th February, 2012 ai??i?? 6:30 PM IST

Fresh from a moral boosting victory over the leaders Dempo, Pune would take on Prayag United with a chance to break into the top four of the league table. With just five points separating seven teams from second to eighth place, currently the league stands at a very interesting point. Keita has formed a decent partnership with their Japanese midfielder Izumi and expect them to cause some serious problems for the backline of Prayag United. At the back Chika Wali and Costa have been water tight and Prayag would really have to play out of their skin to notch up three points against the Pune outfit on Sunday.

Pune FC expected line-up: Amrinder (GK), Caitano Costa , Gurjinder Singh, Baldeep Singh,Ai??Chika Wali, Karma Tsewang , Kamaljit Kumar, Lester Fernandez , Arata, Subhash Singh, Kieta.

Prayag United must feel cheated after referee Danny Jacob denied Josimar a clear cut penalty which could have given them a chance to restore parity against Salgaocar in their last league match. That loss has severely hampered Prayagai??i??s chances for the title this season but they are still within the touching distance from second placed East Bengal – something which they would have taken without making any fuss at the start of the season. Prayag will have to quickly leave aside the disappointment of last week as a win here against Pune could virtually lift them up to second place in the table. Josimar picked up his second caution against Salgaocar and will be suspended for this match, which could go against Prayag as he was easily the best player on the pitch for Prayag during their encounter against Salgaocar. Also defender Justine will have to sit out from the match due to the same reason but Belloai??i??s return will more than make up for the defenderai??i??s absence. In Yakubu and Vincent Prayag possess enough fire power to unsettle any opposition and Sanjoy Sen would be hoping for the same when his men step on the pitch against Pune.

Prayag United expected line-up: Abhijit Mondal (GK) , Chinta, Bello, Arnab, Deepak, Denson, James, Jayanta, Shankar, Vincent, Yakubu
