Trevor Morganai??i??s side face lowly placed HAL in round sixteen of the I-league tomorrow at Yuba Bharati Krirangan. East Bengal bagged all three points in the last round against a struggling Pailan Arrows side, which saw Aussie striker Tolgey score a clinical brace to take his tally to eleven this season. The overgrowing injury list of the Lal-Holud camp had another addition in Robert Lalthwama, as the left back joined Robin Singh, Nirmal Chettri, Ravinder Singh, Gurvinder Singh and Naoba Singh. Defender Sunil Kumar is all set to make his I-League debut as Coach Morgan is short on options at the back. Alan Gowai??i??s replacement, former East Bengal player, Edmilson is expected to start from the bench, just like in the last match against Pailan, as Ozbey is expected to lead the attack for the Kolkata giants. A win here for the former champions could see East Bengal join Dempo at the summit of the table, as the Goans kick off on Saturday.

East Bengal expected line-up: Gurpreet Singh Sandhu(GK), Harmanjot Khabra, Okpara, Gurwinder, Sunil Kumar, Sanju, Penn, Mehtab, Paite, Vashum, Tolgey.

HAL Bangalore is languishing at the bottom of the table with just three pointsAi??from their registered fifteen fixtures in the league so far. The South Indian side now travel to Kolkata for the sixteenth scheduled match against Kingfisher East Bengal. Thyagrajai??i??s side has nothing to lose now, as relegation is almost confirmed for the Bangalore side. Star defender Charles Dzsiah returns for the side as his side look to avoid another eight goal humiliation. HAL will be missing some of their crucial players like Liliyan Kenneth, Chandan Deep Singh and Biju Kumar due to suspension.

HAL expected line-up: Pramod (GK), Adeola , K.Ramesh, Goutam, Satish Kumar, Meiti, James, Bijoy Das, R.C.Prakash, Vinod, Abdulla Hamza.

Prasanta Banerjee was left lamenting the defeat at the Nehru stadium in the last round against a determined Sporting side, as The Mariners registered their fourth loss of the season. Currently Mohun Bagan sit at the fourth position having garnered 27 points out of 15 games played so far. The round sixteen Kolkata derby witnesses the Sabuj-Maroon brigade welcome Prayag United on Sunday. Mohun Bagan will have to manage this derby without the services of Rakesh Masih, who has been very influential in orchestrating attacks from the middle of the park. Coach Banerjee would be hoping that his side doesnai??i??t slip up again, as it proves to be very costly in the hotly contested race to the title.

Mohun Bagan expected line-up: Sangram Mukherjee(GK), Subhasish, Kingshuk, Anwar, Nabi, Manish, Lima, Zeleny , Snehasish, Barreto, Odafa .

Sonjay Sen’s side are parked at the sixth spot after his mentored sidesai??i?? crucial victory in the last round against Chirag United Kerala. Prayag United has now won two of their last three matches, and would be hoping to continue the winning momentum as they lock horns against a hurt Mohun Bagan side. Kayne Vincent strike got all the three points for the men in purple, and he would be our man to watch out for. Sonjay Sen has his full squad at his disposal for this match. A victory in this match could see the Kolkata side break into top five leapfrogging Salgaocar and Pune FC. The reverse fixture saw Prayag United clinch all three points as Ghanaian Yusif Yakubuai??i??s brace helped his side overcome a goal deficit.

Prayag United expected line-up: Abhijit Mondal(GK), Chinta, Bello, Arnab, Deepak, Denson, Jayanta, Tulunga, Snehasish, Vincent, Joshimar.

TheHardTackleai??i??s Men To Watch Out For:

Okolie Odafa (Mohun Bagan AC)

Kayne Vincent (Prayag United SC)

TheHardTackleai??i??s Prediction:

Mohun Bagan 2-1 Prayag United

Santosh Kashyapai??i??s side is placed at a healthy seventh position, just managing to be in the top half of the table. Air India now welcomes an in form Pune FC side at the Balewadi Sports complex. The Pilots have lost three of their last five matches, which includes a single draw. Victory for Sporting Club de Goa means that both the clubs are equal on points. Coach Santosh Kashyap would hope that his side retains the winning formula, which his side had successfully demonstrated during the start of the season. The institutional side will miss their defender, jersey number 21 Pratik Chaudhri. Ezeh Henry will be our man to watch out for in this match as the Nigerian would be looking to add to his tally of number of goals. Any drop of points from here on, could suck Air India into the lower end of the table.

Air India expected line-up: Pawan Kumar (GK), Ramandeep, Collin, Tamba, Shafi, Bijoy, Omi, Kali, Alaudeen, Sandeep, Henry.

The Red Lizards are on a roll as they conjured their sixth win in the last nine games, without registering a loss. Derrick Pereiraai??i??s side now has garnered 26 points in the fifteen rounds of matches. Coach Pereira has openly stated that the trio of Mandjou, Subhash and Jeje is working wonders at the club. Pune FC now has to face the challenge of Air India at their home ground on Sunday. Pune FC would be without four of their sure shot starters ai??i?? Anas, Baldeep, Douhou and Gurjinder ai??i?? all due to suspensions after that feisty Maha-Derby against Mumbai FC in the last round. It will be very interesting to see that how Derrick manages his side in their bid to getAi??maximum points, as the depth in the squadAi??is likely toAi??be exposed in this round sixteen fixture. Another triumph here could see Pune rise up to all the expectations of the fans, and break into top 4 for the first time this season.

Pune FC expected line-up: Abhra Mondal (GK ) , Caitano Costa , Chika Wali , Baldeep Singh , Arata , Karma Tsewang , Kamaljit Kumar, Lester Fernandez , S Ramu , S.Singh, Jeje

TheHardTackleai??i??s Men To Watch Out For:

Searching for their first win of this New Year, Shillong Lajong will play host to the league leaders – Dempo SC in the round 16 match of the I-league on Sunday. Shillongai??i??s biggest signing- Rennedy Singh is expected to be named in the starting eleven for the match; his presence in the team could prove crucial for uplifting the morale of the home side. Also, forward Menyonger will make a comeback after serving his suspension in the least round. Although Dempo sits on the top of the league, but they have failed to dominate their opponents ever since their team members came back from SAFF Cup in December and Pradyum Reddyai??i??s would keep this in mind once they step on the newly laid astro-turf at Jawaharlal Nehru Sports Complex, Shillong.

Pradyum Reddy would be more than satisfied if his team manages to take away a point from this game- a task which looks a little far-fetched for the side from the east at the moment.

Shillong Lajong expected line-up: Poirei (GK), Subhas, Lalhlimthara, Ralte, Rennedy, John Lalramluaha , Lyngdoh , Lalchhuanmawia, James, Menyonger, Tuboi.

A second half brace from Ranti Martins helped Dempo SC to pick up three crucial points away from home against Air India in their midweek round 15 fixture. That win made it six points in three games for Armando Colacoai??i??s side this year and he would be hoping his side to make it nine points in four matches by the end of round 16. Dempoai??i??s new signing Densill Theobald picked up an assist in his first match against Air India in his first appearance for the leaders and could be started on Sunday. However, Mahesh Gawli is suspended for the match after he picked up his second caution against the pilots on 18th January. His absence can cause few jittery moments for the visitors but TheHardTackle believes that despite the defenderai??i??s unavailability the Goan side possesses enough firepower in their arsenal to overcome the tenth placed Shillong Lajong.

Dempo expected line-up: Subhashish(GK), Rowilson, Creson , Roy , Samir , Anthony , Clifford , Densill, Climax, Joy, Ranti

TheHardTackleai??i??s Men To Watch Out For:

Rennedy Singh (Shillong Lajong)

Densill Theobald (Dempo SC)

TheHardTackleai??i??s Prediction:

CHURCHILL BROTHERS SC

SALGAOCAR SC

InAi??what is essentiallyAi??the match of the week, Churchill Brothers take on the defending champions Salgaocar SC in the Goan derby on Sunday evening. With one game in hand Churchill are just four points behind leaders Dempo and a single point behind East Bengal. The previous encounter between both these sides was a well fought affair with Chidi cancelling out Oparaai??i??s strike. Churchill will be playing the home team for the return leg and enjoy the best defensive record in the league so far by conceding just twelve goals in fourteen matches. They have not lost to rest of the Goan sides this season and have shared the spoils only once, that too against Salgaocar. None of Churchill players are suspended for this crucial tie which means Manuel Gomes will have the completed squad at his disposal for choosing his starting eleven. Rafi has been fantastic in the middle of the park and would really keep the pressure up on the midfield and backline of SSC, while Steven Dias will provide his immaculate crosses from the right wing. Up ahead, Opara is set to start with Henry by his side after the later impressed by coming off the Bench against Mohun Bagan.

Churchill Brothers expected line-up: Felix (GK), Antun, Henry, Beto, Denzil, Gouramangi, Rafi,Steven, Lenny, Raju, Opara.

Karim Bencharifaai??i??s men have been on a mini revival of sorts after having a disastrous start to their season and are currently enjoying a six match undefeated streak. A win on Sunday will see Salgaocar jump to fourth place in the table just below Churchill Brothers, which should definitely serve as an added incentive for Salgaocar SC. Chidi is expected to make a comeback for the defending champions after he missed out against HAL-Bangalore during their midweek clash. Despite picking up an impressive win over HAL, Salgaocar should not become over confident as the match against Chuchill Brothers will be an altogether different ball game. SSC has not faired well in their away matches with just two wins; but considering that they will be playing at the Fatorda stadium, this shouldnai??i??t be much of a concern for them. Also Ishfaq Ahmed will return to his duties in the middle of the pack after missing after missing out against HAL due to suspension while Francis Fernandes is expected to play at the top alongside Chidi after the former player impressed their manager with his display against HAL.

This will be the first acid test for Salgaocar in this new year, and a win here would definitely propel them in the race for the championship- something which was looking highly unlikely a couple of months ago.

Salgaocar expected line-up: Karanjit Singh (GK), Saha, Meitei, Khelemba, Rino Anto, Francis Fernandes , Rocus Lamare, Tomba Singh,Ishfaq , Ryuji, Chidi Edeh.

TheHardTackleai??i??s Men To Watch Out For:

ND Opara (Churchill Brothers)

Chidi Edeh (Salgaocar SC)

TheHardTackleai??i??s Prediction:

Churchill Brothers SC 1-1 Salgaocar SC

Two teams with totally different mindsets will clash in the final fixture of the round on Monday as Sporting hasnai??i??t lost a single match after the turn of the year while Mumbai has lost three in a row and are yet to pick up a point in 2012. A shocking win over Mohun Bagan in the previous round is bound to provide a lot of confidence for the home side. James Moga and park Hyun are expected to start in front while Jovil Martins and skipper Ogba Kalu will be marshalling the troops in the middle of the park. Defensively the side impressed a lot against Bagan and if they manage to play with the same zeal against much weaker Mumbai FC, they will have no problem in picking up three points from this fixture.

Ai??SC Goa expected line-up: Gerradai??i??D Mello(GK), Dowson, Rojen, Prajot, Jovel, Kalu, Boboi, Anthony Dai??i??Souza, Moga, Joseph, Park.

A poor run in 2012 has seen Mumbai FC drop to 11th placed on the table with just three points separating them from the drop zone. Having lost all their encounters this year the morale of the team will be at an all time slow especially after suffering a defeat in the derby against Pune FC by three goals to nil earlier this week. It was a high intensity match and has left its wounds on display with as many as three Mumbai players set to miss the bus after they picked up suspensions against Pune.. Defender Keegan picked up a straight red, while Cavin and Chhangte miss out at it was their second yellow. Absence of as many as three frontline midfielder will leave a massive hole in the heart of Mumbaiai??i??s midfield and leaves a whole lot for their manager Khalid Jamil to ponder. Kuttimani and Noel Wilson are expected to start as THT predicts a a hard fought win for Sporting against a mentally fragile Mumbai FC.

Ai??Mumbai FC expected line-up: Nidhinlal(GK), Dhanachandra, Amiri, Peter Siddiquii, Kima, Kuttimani, Faizal, Noel Wilson, Ebi Sukore, Abhishek, G. Friday.
