THT Transfer Watch: News And Verdicts – August 26, 2011

Gunners Have Entered The Race To Sign France’s Latest 16-year Old Sensation M’Baye Niang

THT Verdict: M’Bia Yes. M’baye No. Since the deal with Rosicky is not going to happen, this becomes a no-go anyways. With Oxlade, Miyachi (the work permit), Joel Campbell, Arsenal has already done business for their share of young-stars this season. They would rather work on Joel’s work-permit than buy a ‘talent’ for the future. A teen sensation is not exactly what is required at Arsenal with 5 days to go before the transfer window shuts down.

Harry Redknapp on Luka Modric – “Harry Redknapp on Luka Modric: “He’ll be playing on Sunday for sure. I think there was a meeting. Daniel (Levy, Spurs chairman) just said the same thing, he’s not for sale. It’s been difficult for him but we want him to stay and he will stay. He’ll train tomorrow and Saturday and should be fit for Sunday. He could have kicked up and been a problem and if he had done it would have been difficult to keep him. If players want to be destructive they can be but he’s not got that in his nature. He’ll stay and play and will be great as he has been every other year.

Arsene Wenger Has Lodged A £6m Bid For Garry Cahill

THT Verdict: Multiple tabloids are reporting the ridiculously low bid for Cahill, who is in his last year of contract. This deal is finally reached an ‘almost done’ stage, Gary Cahill will be an Arsenal player, it is a matter of how the final talks go. With the injury waves always hitting Arsenal throughout the season, Cahill is much more than a 3rd Choice Center Back, he will add stability and strength to the defence.

Tomas Rosicky Is Reportedly Considering A Move To Wolfsburg

THT Verdict: Impossible. Having recently played a sensational part in Arsenal’s European qualification, the Little Mozart is very much in Arsene’s plan for this season. With the departure of Cesc and Samir, the only midfielder who is capable of handling creative overburden is Rosicky. He won’t be able to play the entire season at his age, but will be a valuable asset for at least 25 games in a season.
