Spanish La Liga Review – Round 14: Real Madrid Win The Derby, Barcelona Lose To Getafe

Matchday 14 of La Liga might very well prove very important in the title race. Real Madrid kept their excellent form with an emphatic 4-1 home win over AtlAi??tico Madrid and, with Barcelona’s shocking defeat at Getafe, they now hold a 6 point lead at the top of La Liga. For the first time in four seasons, Barcelona are really facing a serious challenge to their domination and have their backs against the wall ahead of December’s El ClA?sico.

Valencia are now merely one point behind Barcelona after their 2-1 win at Rayo Vallecano, and Levante have continued their sensational campaign with a 4-0 home win over Sporting Gijon. At the bottom, some things have changed, with Racing taking last place, Zaragoza slipping into the relegation zone and Getafe climbing up the ladder after their sensational win.
