Flaming Oranje is currently slotted at sixth position in the table, and are still undefeated in the league. Ekendra Singhai??i??s side has managed to draw three of their first five fixtures and now the Goan side welcome Chirag United Kerala. Ekendra singh welcomes back influential striker James Moga, who makes a comeback after sitting out the last match against Pailan Arrows. The match ended in a disappointing draw for the Goan team, unlike their opponents’ who were more than satisfied clinching a much needed point out of the tie. Now the team in Oranje faces another struggling side in Chirag United and the team will be without Jovel Martins and Singam Rojen Singh, as both the players are out due to back to back bookings.

Sporting Club expected line up: Dai??i??Mello (GK), Samananda, Adil,Ai??Keita, Freiman, Kalu, James Moga,Ai?? Macroy, Prajot, Joseph,Ai??Victorino.

Good start to the season, where the boys from Kochi won their first match away from home, is eventually evolving into a reallyAi??awefulAi??campaign as Chirag United havenai??i??t even garnered a single point since the opening day.Ai??Chirag United Kerala is languishing at eleventh position in the table, only a point off the drop zone.

Pakir Aliai??i??s side will be without the influential duo of Charles Dsizah and former India international Ajayan. It will be yet another daunting task for the men from Kerala to hoard points from this tie as they travel to Margao for this match. It is time for the team to climb up the table as the gap between the mid table placed teams and the ones struggling at the bottom is gradually increasing with every round.

Chirag United expected line up: Arindam(GK), Jagdeep, Issac, Michael, Noushad, Sabas, Saleel, Asif, Vignesh, Vineeth, Bangoura

PRAYAG UNITED SC

V

SALGAOCAR SC

Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata

Kick off: 15:45 IST : Date- 19th November, 2011

***

Prayag United will have their tail up against the defending champions -SalgaocarSC, especially after picking up two back to back victories in the last two rounds of the I-league. With two wins and three draws in the league so far; Sanjoy Senai??i??s men find themselves in the top half of the table with a total of nine points. Along with leaders DempoSC, they are the only side which have not tasted a defeat this season.

The defending champions have had a horrendous start to their campaign and this might actually turn out to be the best time for the Prayag to pick up three valuable points against the Goans. Sen has also hinted that this match might see the return of their star strikerAi??- Yusif Yakubu. The Ghanaian is the all time top scorer in the history of Indian national football League and his presence in itself is bound to bolster the chances of the home team against Salgaocar.

Midfielder Tulunga is expected to make a comeback as well, which will add more teeth in Prayagai??i??s midfield ahead of their Saturdayai??i??s clash. At plus six, Prayag Unitedai??i??s goal difference is second only to DempoSC in the league. Defenders Deepak Mondal, BelloAi?? Razaq, Chandrashekar Rao, and Arnab Mondal have ably guarded their backline so far and skipper Lalkamal Bhowmick has dictated the terms to their opponents in the midfield. Fresh from a brace against HAL Bangalore, their Kiwi striker Kayne Vincent will be raring to go against the mighty SSC and Yakubuai??i??s presence alongside him will only make their attack look even more formidable.

Prayag United SC expected line up: Somnath (GK), Deepak, Bello, Rao, Arnab, Lalkamal, Tulunga, Snehashish, Denson, Vincent, Yakubu

Salgaocar picked up a much needed win under their belt as they went on to defeat Mumbai FC by a narrow margin in the previous round of I-league. Despite picking up a win, Karim Bencharifa cannot afford to relax against Prayag as the defending champions got these three points primarily due to the heroics of the goalkeeper Karanjit Singh who kept MFC strikers at bay. The team needs to do a lot of work in almost every department if they want to reach up to their own standards of last season. Their manager Bencharifa and skipper Luciano Sabrosa, need to dig in deep in order to make their players play like a team which unfortunately has not been the case so far this season. The duty of scoring will again rely on the shoulders of Chidi Edeh. Sueoka is expected to play the role of a playmaker and along with Anthony Barbosa, Tomba Singh and lamare would hold their midfield together. Their backline needs to pull up their socks as they cannot afford to rely on the reflexes of their keeper Karanjit over and over again; especially since this week Yakubu is most likely to be the one who will test their young keeper from Punjab.

Salgaocar SC expected line up: Karanjit(GK), Luciano Sabrosa, Rahul, Meitei, Biswajit, Francis, Rocus Lamare, Tomba, Ishfaq, Chidi Edeh, Sueoka

TheHardTackleai??i??s Players to Watch Out For:

Yusif Yakubu (Prayag United SC)

Shillong Lajong FC

Pailan Arrows

Khuman Lampak Main Stadium, Shillong

Kick off: 15:15 IST : Date- 20th November, 2011

Shillong Lajong play their third game at Imphal when they take on struggling Pailan Arrows. The development side is second from bottom and is yet to register a win this season. However, they come into this game on the back of a well deserved draw against Sporting Clube de Goa at Fatorda. The India U-23 side gave a good account of themselves against Flaming Oranje, especially defensively. Prathamesh Maulingkar was the standout performer at central defense and Arrows will once again look forward to his imposing figure in defense.

The problem for the Pailan boys has been their lack of goals. They have scored just two goals in five games and the goals have dried up. Jibon Singh and Milan Singh havenai??i??t been effective upfront, but frankly speaking Arrows donai??i??t have quality strikers to choose from. They are most likely to fall short of ammunition against a Shillong Lajong side that is getting into their groove this season. They are currently in ninth place and would be looking to make amends after their disappointing goalless draw with AirIndia at home in their previous game. Their lone bright spark was the performance of their striker James Jiblee, who also won the Man of the Match award. Although the defense played relatively well, their midfield didnai??i??t play the link up play to perfection leading to very few scoring chances for their strikers. Once again the midfields of both the teams would come into play.

On paper though, the Lajong side has the better midfield and thus hold the edge. The uneven bounce at the Kunan Lamphak stadium could also be a deterrent to the young Pailan team. Z. Ralte will be back in defense for Lajong after serving his one match suspension and is expected to partner Aibor Khongee and William Passah in defense. The midfield would remain unchanged from their previous game while John Menyongar is expected to shoulder most of the burden in attack. Lajong would not settle for anything less than the three points while for Pailan Arrows a draw would be a great result for them.

ShillongLajong expectedAi??line up:L. Ralte (GK), Lalramluana, Chizoba, Johnny, Lalhimthara,Lallwmzauala, Boithang, Subhash, Zenith, Passah, Lalchulmwa

Pailan Arrows expected line up:Ai??Naveen (GK), Rajeev, Gurtej Sr., Maulingkar, Lalrozama, Bijen, Milan, Bikramjit, Jibon, Malsawmfela, Ajay.

Air India FC

Sri Kanteveera Stadium, Bangalore

Kick off: 15:00 IST : Date- 20th November, 2011

HAL Bangalore play host to Air India FC in the sixth round of the I-league on Sunday afternoon. HAL would be desperately looking for a win as they are the only side that are yet to register a win against their name this season. They have been defeated only narrowly by all their opponents and have not leaked goals like Mumbai FC, Pune FC or the Arrows. Itai??i??s the strike force which has let them down. They have never looked like scoring in bulk of their matches. Although they came really close against the defending champions- Salgaocar, but a superlative performance by SSCai??i??s keeper Karanjit denied them the elusive first victory of the season. Their manager Thyagraj has to make truckloads of adjustments in both the midfield as well as in the frontline if HAL wants to snatch even a single point from Air India.

HAL expected line up:Ai??Amar(GK), Chandandeep, James, Abdul Hamza, Metei, Koushik,Ai??Biju, Goutam, Adeola, Bijoy, Vinod.

After narrowly escaping relegation in the previous season, not many would have imagined that they will find Air India sitting pretty in the middle of the table anytime during the forthcoming season. Haroon Jamakraai??i??s men have left quite a few football pundits speechless after putting a string of impressive performances in the league so far. After starting their campaign with too back to back defeats they came back strongly and followed it up with two wins which includes an impressive 3-1 victory over Salgaocar SC. They have picked up seven points out of the maximum nine from their last three fixtures and would be the favorites ahead of their clash against bottom-placed HAL Bangalore. Their defenders and goalkeeper Pawan emerged as the heroes against Shillong and if they carry forward their impressive defensive duties on Sunday, they are bound to cause immense problems to the frontline of HAL Bangalore who have managed to score only a single goal this season.

Air India expected line-up:Pawan Kumar (GK), Omi, Henry, Mandeep, Manjit, Soccor, Napolean Singh, Tamba, Manjit, Uttam, Thomte.

Derrick Pereiraai??i??s side were undone in the last round by a rampaging East Bengal side at Yuba Bharati Krirangan.Ai?? Pune FC is hovering just above the relegation zone, specifically at tenth in the table. Now the Red Lizards welcome table toppers DempoSC at Balewadi for their fifth round encounter. The squad would miss the services of left back Gurjinder Kumar. The Pune side has only one victory in its kitty and a third defeat here could see them slip dreadfully closer to the drop zone. Baldeep Singh had an excellent game forIndiain the mid-week againstMalaysia, and would be hoping to echo the same performance for his club.

Pune FC expected line up:Ai?? Shahinlal Meloly (GK), Srikanth, Anas, Chika, Maninder, Douhou, Jeje lalpekhlua, Subash, Ventkatesh, Baldeep Singh, Izumi Arata.

Dempo is sitting comfortably at the summit of the table, as Armando Colacoai??i??s men clinched their fifth consecutive victory in the last round against Chirag United Kerala in Kochi. Chirag asked some questions of the Dempo defense, which also led to Subhashish Roy Chowdhury picking the ball up from inside of his own net for the first time this season. Ranti Martins scored a brace and took his tally to eight for the season. His linking up with Joachim upfront has worked wonders for the Goans.Ai?? Most of the Dempo players were rested for the second friendly in Kolkata, and would be looking to continue from they left in round 5, as Mohun Bagan are hot on their heels.

Dempo expected line up: Subhashish (GK), Mahesh Gawli, Creston,Roy, Samir Naik, Peter, Climax, Clifford, Anthony, Ranty, Abranches

So finally one of the biggest matches inIndia knocks at our doors as Mohun Bagan prepare to take on arch city rivals East Bengal in an eagerly anticipated derby encounter. Prasanta Bannerjeeai??i??s side are high on confidence as his side overwhelmed Churchill Brothers in the last round to leap frog the Goan giantsAi??and conquer the second place. Striker Sunil Chettri is in top form, as the India striker scored a brace for the national team against Malaysia,Ai??after scoring for the Kolkata side in the fourth round. To top it up and to provide a further boost to the home side, Nigerian ace Odafa is expected to return to the squad for this match, after an injury lay off. This could see in from Ashim Biswas slotted in the reserves as Jose Barreto is also expected to start and use his experience in the derby. Anwar Ali is doubtful, after he was stretchered off in the friendly against Malaysia at the same ground.

Mohun Bagan expected line up: Sangram (GK); Surkumar, Kingshuk, Zeleny, Nabi, Gouranga, Jewel, Snehashish, Barreto, Odafa, Sunil.

East Bengal, on the other hand, are also in superb form and currently slotted at third position, two points behind their hosts. East Bengal didnai??i??t start the season as expected but have eventually climbed up the ladder, owing to some impressive performances in the last three matches, where the Laal-Holud army scored nine goals and conceded only two. Trevor Morgan needs to sort outAi??his attacking line up for this big match as Aussie striker Tolgey Ozbay is suspended for the match. Alan Gow would be expected starter alongside Robin Singh, while Baljit could make an impact from the bench. With playmaker Mehtab Hossain stillAi??doubtful because of the injury which has kept him out so far in the campaign, Sanju Pradhan andAi??Penn OrjiAi??are expected to take up the midfield responsibility. Ai??The team that loses this match will be under severe pressure. Khalid Jamilai??i??s Mumbai FC, after their stunning win on the opening day, have shockingly slumped to four consecutive losses; their last match an unlucky 0-1 loss to champions Salgaocar. They started on a high with a 4-1 whipping of local rivals AirIndia but then suffered reverses against East Bengal, Dempo, Mohun Bagan and then Salgaocar. Until their previous game against Salgaocar, they had conceded 13 goals in their three games. They should have come away with a point against Salgaocar but for Abhishek Yadavai??i??s missed penalty. Their defense has been the problem for them. Conceding 15 goals, the most by any team so far, in five games says a lot of the brittleness of their defense, something that Jamil needs to fix instantly in order to get his campaign back on track.

Their midfield with Noel Wilson, Cavin Lobo and Nicholas Rodrigues has been doing fairly well but then when you have such a weak defense the attack is bound to be under severe pressure. To be fair to Jamil, they did play a good game against Salgaocar and were unlucky not to come away with atleast a point but considering the high standards that Jamil sets for his team they would want to improve in every department. Churchill Brothers on the other hand after suffering their first loss of the season against Mohun Bagan will look to regroup. Their defenders especially Antun Kovacic was found to be wanting on several occasions against Mohun Bagan.

The tall Australian was shamefully outwitted by Ashim Biswas – a man much shorter than him. Gourmangi Singh too did not have the best of days in defence. Their midfield, though, is definitely missing the creative class of Beto. Zakeer has been good so far at the centre but is definitely missing a creative force alongside him. Opara and Henri – the target men upfront were out of sorts in Kolkata though to be fair the Bagan defense certainly did well to keep them quiet.

At home, Churchill would be under pressure to get the goals and anything other than the three points would mean added pressure on Manuel Gomes. That loss against the Mariners dropped them two places to fourth and a win would help them gain at least a point considering thatEast Bengaland Mohun Bagan play each other in the Kolkata derby. Denzil Franco and Ravanan would join Gourmangi and Kovacic in defense for Churchill while Zakeer, Steven, Xavier and Lenny would most likely complete the midfield. This match is expected to be a cracker of a contest especially since both teams are desperately in search of a win.

Churchill Brothers expected line up:Ai??Felix (GK), Thanjam, Gourmangi, Ravanan, Matthew, Jerry, Lenney, Steven, Zakir, VijayKumar, Henry.

Mumbai FC expected line up:Ai??Nidhinlal (GK), Goutam, Dhanchandra, Noel, Nihal, Kima, Faisal, Sukore, Friday, Kuttimani, Uddin
