HT’: It’s a goal-less first half at the Fatorda. HAL SC deserve credit for their gritty display away from home against the table toppers. Karim tried all the tricks in his bag to help Salgaocar take the lead before the lemon break, but the his dazzling forward-line failed to break the stubborn HAL defense in first 45 minutes.

40′: Tabia to Asim Hasan, who in turn passes the ball to Edmar. Nice one touch football by Edmar as he sends the ball to Shiwalkar who crosses it in for Shubhash; but defended well by Eric Bolwe. Good build up. More of this needed for Pune FC at the moment.

45′: Air India trying to slow things down here as Yusuf Tijani does down at the slightest of touches. Huge booos from the Balewadi crowd.

65’: Air India makes their first change. IN Caldeira; OUT Manjit Singh. Edmar shot parried away by Air India keeper; Arata charges to get hold of the rebound, but keeper Mondal clears. Exciting contest here and the drum beats are on again!

Pune moving the ball around from right to left and then again from left to right, but can’t find a way through. Meanwhile wonderful cross from right by Venkatesh. The ball loops over a couple of AI defenders and reaches an unmarked Edmar in front of goal. He should have scored from that position, but the header is off target much to the agony of the Balewadi crowd.

77′: GOOOAAALLLL! for PFC. Asim Hasan to Edmar, and he finishes it this time!

81′: GOOOAAALLLL! Another one for the home team much to the delight of the Balewadi crowd. Pune FC is leading by 2-1.

Edmar sends in a clever back-heal into the D. Arata shoots, but his effort gets rebounded off the post. Luckily the ball comes to Arata once again and this time he makes no mistake to put his side ahead. Huge cheer and Arata runs across the pitch in celebration; joined by the coach and Subrata and the rest of the team members.

85’: Another substitution by Air India. IN Abranches; OUT Tijani.

90′: Edmar and Arata oozing in confidence now. PFC is displaying a beautiful brand of football here. Third and the last sub for Air India. IN Alan Dias; OUT Sukhwinder. Santosh Koli with a decent header, goes over. Close shave for PFC.

90’+2′: Okorogor Praise almost scored the equalizer in the dying moment of the match. Saved but the outstretched leg of Subrata Paul. Brilliant reflex save by the Indian no1.

10′: Dempo SC dominating completely, the home team is on back-foot right from the word go.

15′: Some gritty defending by Peter Odafe led ONGC defense ensured that the score-line remains goal-less after the first quarter of an hour’s play.

25′: ONGC players deserve credit for keeping the dazzling Dempo forward line at bay in the first 25 minutes. Now they are growing in confidence and venturing out in to Dempo’s fort also.

30′: In to the half-an-hour mark, the dead-lock is yet to be broken. Dempo players are looking increasingly frustrated. Climax Lawrence and Ogba Kalu both have been guilty of squandering possession to easily in the midfield.

40′: Great chance for Ranty Martins. Beto sets the Nigerian up with a measured through ball right inside the D. Ranty shoots towards the far corner along the ground, but Rajat makes a desperate dive to divert the ball out wide for a corner. Nothing comes out of the flag-kick.

HT’: Here goes the half time whistle. ONGC coach will be a pleased man by the gritty performance exhibited by his boys. However don’t be surprised if you come to know that his counterpart, Armando Colaco, actually ordered for a few hair-dryers during the lemon break. Join us after the break for the live actions from the second half proceedings. We will be back in about 15 minutes. Stay tuned.

55′: Armando Colaco looks like a worried man in the dugout. ONGC players are closing in quickly, hardly giving Dempo midfield any time on the ball to maneuver something. FT: Here goes the final whistle. Dempo comes up with all three points. ONGC would feel hard done; they showed a lot of courage to restrict the star-studded Dempo squad at bay for close to 85 minutes. But at last the difference of class shows up and Ranty gets one past Rajat 5 minutes before the final whistle. A well deserved three points nonetheless. With this win, their 9th of the season, the defending Champions collect 31 points and consolidate their 4th position in the stndings. ONGC remains in the drop zone with just 11 points from 17 matches played so far.

5′: Great cross by Nabi, but no East Bengal striker in the box to pick that up.

7′: Great run by Naoba on the right. Dodges past two players and sets up Vasum with a delightul through ball. Vasum shoots wide. Entertaining match on progress here.

9′: Baljit is fouled just outside the box and East Bengal earns a free kick. The Red-&-Golds are dominating now. Brilliant shot by Vasum. Ishaan makes a wonderful save. Corner.

26′: GOOOAAALLLL! Mumbai FC doubles the lead. Once again against the run of play and this time it’s the man himself – Ebi Sukore. MFC leading by 2-0. Sloppy defending by East Bengal and Henry provided a measured pass to an unmarked Sukore who finishes off with ease.

30′: In to the half-an-hour mark and East Bengal is trailing by 0-2 even the Red-&-Golds are dominating  the ball possession and attack.

31′: Now Vasum has switched flanks with Sanju. Vasum is operating from left with Sanju on right now. Robin is the lone striker, Baljit is playing slightly behind him.

32′: Confident goalkeeping by the MFC keeper as he comes out and collects a teasing cross from Sanju. Looks like Ishaan has injured himself in the process.

35′: East Bengal keeps up the pressure and after a few passes in between Nabi and Vasum, Nabi sends a good cross in the box, but referee awards a foul against Robin Singh.

44′: What a miss by Robin Singh! One-on-one with Ishaan, but the goalie comes out and makes a superb save. That was a golden opportunity wasted by Robin.

45′: Offside decision against Robin Singh. East Bengal is missing a genuine poacher in the box. Also all their attacks are originating from the wings, no creativity from the middle of the pitch at all. Mehraj, who has been drafted in to replace the suspended Mehtab Hussain, is having a horror show.

45+2′: Two corners for East Bengal; cleared by MFC defense.

HT’: It’s half time at Kolkata and MFC is leading by 2 goals. East Bengal has dominated the proceedings but failed to find the target; whereas MFC created only 2 opportunities in the first 45 minutes and they converted both of these in to goals.

78′: It’s all East Bengal at the moment. But they can’t find that elusive goal. From another Ravinder Singh corner, Vasum shoots wide and over.

80′: Only 10 minutes remaining on the clock now. Can East Bengal stage another fight back just like they did on the other night against Thailand’s Chonburi FC in the AFC Cup?

82′: Abhishek Yadav makes way for Noel Wilson. Henry fails to properly control a ball from Noel and East Bengal gets a goal-kick.

85′: It seems all over for East Bengal. Looks like the players have given up. Lethargic display by Nabi as he loses the possession too easily.

90+2′: Henry’s left footer goes over the wood-work.

90+3′: GOOOAAALLLL! East Bengal scores. Biswarup Dey is the scorer, but it’s too late now.

FT: Here goes the final whistle. Mumbai FC clinches all three points and East Bengal fails to close the gap on Salgaocar. The 1-2 score-line is a bit flattering for the Mumbai side as it was East Bengal who did all the forward surges, but the absence of Mehtab, Okpara and Tolgay hit them hard. MFC got only 2 real chances, and they converted both. Ebi Sukore is the man of the match today.
