Pre-match : I-League round 11 is all set to kick off with East Bengal vs HAL SC match to be played at the beautiful Yuvabharati Krirangan, Kolkata. 1′: Table topper East Bengal would look to consolidate their position at the summit of the league by securing a comprehensive victory over Bangalore’s HAL SC. HAL would be extremely fortunate even if they are able to take one point from this Kolkata trip. Referee blows his whistle and the match is ON.
2′: The Red-&-Golds with the first attack of the match. Keneth intercepts Khabra and the ball goes out for a throw in.
3′: Excellent ball to Penn by Mehtab from the midfield. Penn passes it to Robin but Rohit Chand, the Nepalese international defender makes a timely tackle to avert the possible danger.
5′: It’s all East Bengal at the moment as they get a free kick around 35 yards out. Surprisingly, instead of Mehtab Soumik takes the shot, cleared by Kenneth.
8′: Robin !!! Hits it wide. Defense splitting ball by Sanju from the right flank, but Robin Singh’s finishing woes continue.
10′: Great tackle by Mehtab as he snatched the ball off Xavier Vijaykumar and East Bengal goes on attacking once again.
13′: Again Robin Singh misses a golden opportunity. Sanju Pradhan dribbled past two HAL players before delivering a looping ball in the HAL box, but Robin failed to get a touch and HAL defense clears.
16′: The score-line remains goal-less after quarter of an hour. East Bengal dominating the match completely, with HAL defending with purpose at the moment.
17′: HAL with their first attack down the right flank, but Okpara does well to snatch the ball off Xavier Vijaykumar.
19′: Excellent chance went begging. Mehtab with a lovely ball from the left which goes accross the HAL box, but neither Tolgay, nor Robin could get a touch – it would have been a simple tap in if any of the Red-&-Gold players were in right position.
22′: Tolgay misses a sitter!!! It was an open net. Robin provided the pass, with HAL keeper Pramod not in his position, but Tolgay fails to get a touch. Poor effort by the Australian.
25′: It still remains goal-less. HAL tried to string an attack from the middle, but J. Murali’s intended pass to Hamza was brilliantly cleared by Gurwinder Singh.
26′: HAL gets a free kick as Tolgay intentionally brings down Murali by pulling his jersey. Nothing came out of the free kick. From the counter, Robin hits it straight at HAL keeper Pramod.
28′: Naoba with a marauding overlapping run down the right flank, but he tries to do too much on his own and loses the ball to Jai Kumar. The score-line remains goal-less.
30′: Nice attack by East Bengal as Sanju-Robin-Tolgay combines well in the attacking third, but somehow HAL defense is managing to keep a tight marking and restricted East Bengal to a goal-less score-line at the half-an-hour mark.
32′: East Bengal is having the lion’s share of ball possession, but just like their previous 2-3 matches, poor finishing from the strikers is letting Morgan’s men down. The Red-&-Golds creating another attack with Mehtab looking to find Penn in the attacking third, but HAL defender Kenneth reaches before Penn could react.
35′: Negligent defending by Goutam Devnath as he tries a square pass towards his right back, Robin Singh was alert and snatches the ball to deliver a decent cross, but it went over Tolgay’s head. Goal-kick for HAL.
37′: Tolgayyyyy!!! Hits the post!!! Tolgay unleashes a screamer after dodging two HAL players, but the ball hits outside of the woodwork and goes out. Sheer bad luck.
38′: GOOOAAALLLL !!! East Bengal takes the lead. And the scorer is Penn Orji. An excellent build-up by Mehtab, and his defense-splitting ball found Tolgay, Tolgay passed it to Naoba, Naoba to Robin Singh, who did the right thing by not going for the glory himself, instead he passed it to an unmarked Penn Orji who makes no mistake to put the ball in the back of the net. The Nigerian’s left footer kissed the post before dropping inside the line. East Bengal goes one up here at YBK and the crowd roars in joy.
41′: HAL SC increased their attacking tempo and goes for the equalizer with Hamza and R.C. Prakash combining to good effect, but Vijay hits the final shot over and wide. Meanwhile HAL mideo Vijesh Kumar argues with the referee and gets book. He gets replaced by Meetei just after the booking.
44′: East Bengal leading by a goal here and they are keen to keep the ball possession to go for the break leading by a goal here. Mehtab plays square pass to Okpara, Okpara to Sandip, Sandip to Naoba, then Naoba to Mehtab again. Oh my God, the Red-&-Gold brigade are effortlessly playing 10-15 passes among themselves with out loosing the ball. Brilliant skills on display here.
HT: At the end of 4 minutes injury time, it’s half time at Yuvabharati Krirangan. The home team East Bengal, amidst massive fan cheering, are leading by a goal at the lemon break.
46′: The second half is about to get underway. Can Morgan’s men increase their lead in the second half, or will it be HAL who will come back strong and equalize? Well, we will get the answer in next 45 minutes; here we go again.
47′: HAL players look absolutely charged up. Sir Alex Ferguson’s famous hair dryer treatment, anyone? Well, they must be motivated by their winning result against the other Kolkata giant, Mohun Bagan , early in their campaign. Nice one-two between Prakash and Vijay, but it’s Okpara who is standing like a rock at the heart of East Bengal defense.
50′: Again East Bengal threatens to run away with the help of a bursting run by Sanju on the right. Rohit Chand fails to reign the skillful East Bengal winger as he delivers a tempting cross in the middle of the HAL box, Robin could not get a header as the ball sails over him to to Pramod, who gathers easily. East Bengal gets a corner, but no damage done for the HAL defense.
54′: East Bengal maintaining their one goal lead and also enjoying a healthy ball possession. HAL SC looks a little more inclined towards attack in the second half.
57′: Score-line remains the same, Mehtab is absolutely mastering the midfield battle, and providing some delightful passes for his striker duo.
59′: Nice overlapping run by Soumik, but cleared by HAL defense and they surge forward for a counter attack.
62′: Penn loses the ball to Prakash, but Gurwinder did well to snatch the ball back and passed on to Mehtab, who tries to find Naoba on an overlapping run, but Naoba fails to gather and HAL regains the possession.
67′: A relatively subdued performance by East Bengal in the second half. HAL SC looking dangerous while attacking from the flanks as both Naoba and Soumik are getting caught napping while dealing with quick counter attacks.
70′: Khabra has looked completely out of sorts today and did not provide much support while going forward. Baljit Singh Sahni can be seen warming up. I reckon it would either be Khabra or Robin, who has missed quite a few good opportunities today.
72′: And here comes the first change for East Bengal. It is indeed Robin, who is making way for Baljit upfront. The score-line remains 1-0 in favor of East Bengal.
74′: That should have been a straight RED CARD for Jay Kumar, who dangerously fouled Mehtab from behind – in Bengali, this type of intentional foul is known as “lang”. Jay gets only a yellow. Very liberal referring by the Services official.
76′: Just around 15 minutes left and the score line remains 1-0.
79′: Tolgay missed another good opportunity. No surprises here, it was Mehtab the MAN, who provided that beautiful pass.
83′: No more goals in the match here at YBK. HAL players are looking tired and East Bengal is keen on keeping the possession than to create any attacking chances. The match has gone a little slow now.
84′: Double change for East Bengal. Sanju and Penn OFF; Ravinder and Bekhokhei IN. HAL makes one change, Prakash OFF, Benkhok IN.
87′: Bekhokhei could have been a hero for the Red-&-Golds today with his first touch of the day. But he fires a Mehtab Hussain pass over and wide.
88′: What a save by Sandip Nandy! Take a bow, you good sir! The veteran custodian flies to his left to save a free kick fired by Rohit Chand. Tolgay gets booked.
90′: Regulation time over. 3 minutes of injury time remaining here. HAL wasted a corner.
92′: Nice attack by Naoba and Bikhokhei, but finally HAL goalkeeper makes an easy stop. Naoba’s shot lacks pace and precision.
FT: And here goes the final whistle. East Bengal registers a clinical 1-0 victory to stay at the summit of league table. With the 9th win in 11 matches, East Bengal have collected 29 points so far – 8 more than the second placed Salgaocar, who have a game in hand against JCT FC tomorrow. HAL SC remains 9th with 11 points. TheHardTackle’s man of the match award for today goes to Mehtab Hussain for another solid performance as the creator in East Bengal midfield.

10′: The Maharastra Derby gets underway at Kohlapur. Mumbai Fc would look to get all three points and move up the ladder to the 3rd place. ONGC, after registering their maiden victory in round 9, will look for another upset in this match
20′: No goals yet. Mumbai FC dominating the early proceedings.
30′: GOOAAALLLL !!! Mumbai FC takes the lead just before the half an hour mark. Ebi Sukore scored for Mumbai FC once again – his 5th goal of the season.
40′: No more goals in the match. MFC is leading by a solitary goal scored. 5 minutes to go before the lemon break.
HT: It’s half time at Kohlapur with the home team, Mumbai FC leading by 1-0 against local rivals ONGC in this Maharastra Derby.
50′: Second half gets underway. No half time changes here. MFC is leading by 1-0.
55′: N.D. Opara scored for ONGC, but the linesman had his flag up. Ruled out for an offside. Protests by ONGC players, Babatunde gets booked.
60′: Still Mumbai FC is maintaining the 1-0 lead. ONGC have upped their attacking tempo, but have failed to create anything of note so far.
FT: Mumbai FC 1-0 ONGC :: Mumbai FC continue their very impressive run of form with another victory. This win moves them to the 3rd spot in the table. Not too bad for a team who had struggled to recruit players in the start of the season.

1′: Match kicks off Chirag United dropped three points against Mumbai FC last time out despite dominating, Sanjay Sen has said that he would go all out for a win against Viva though its an away match. Joshimar is back for Chirag but former Viva player and dependable midfielder Denson Devadas hasnt travelled to Kerala with the team.
30′: It’s still goal-less. Playing conditions in Kannur are very poor. Both teams have struggled to muster attacking moves.
HT : Viva Kerala 0-0 Chirag United :: It has been a forgettable first half with neither teams able to produce anything spectacular.
49′: GOOOAAALLL !!! It’s the away team who take the lead. Durand Cup hero Mohammad Rafique strikes with a neat finish.
60′: Chirag has dominated possession and come close to scoring several times. But their poor finishing has let them down.
75′: Veteran defender Bello Razzaq has been a rock at the back for Viva. It is because of his impressive performance that Viva has managed to keep the scoreline 1-0 so far.
82′: GOOOAAALLL !!! Viva Kerala equalise !! Viva has been let down because of conceding late goals this season. This time, for a change they score a lat equaliser. Anil Kumar makes it 1-1.
FT: Viva Kerala 1-1 Chirag United :: Viva get an invaluable point from this home match. Chirag will be dissapointed to not take all three points despite taking a lead.

The young boys of AIFF XI are all set to take on in-form Mohun Bagan at the YBK. Bagan are without talismanic Jose Barreto while AIFF XI is also missing four first team players. A point will be of immense value for I-League debutantes in this match.
5′: Still goal-less, both teams trying to settle into a rhythm here.
8′: Diamondstar !! The defender was much maligned during Rosario’s era. He seems to have rediscovered himself under Bhowmik. He makes a timely interception to stop AIFF XI’s pacy striker Fela.
9′: AIFF XI midfielder Jewel Raja is actually a Mohun Bagan player who will join the club next season. He has performed impressively for India U23 team in the past. He is playing well today in midfield making some timely tackles.
12′: GOOOAAALLL !!! Mohun Bagan take the lead !!!
12′: Chidi-Ishfaq duo do it again. The captain slips in a delightful through-ball to Chidi who makes to mistake in beating Jagroop. Chidi gets his 5th goals in 3 matches.
15′: Bagan dominating possession against the AIFF boys now. Ishfaq and Souvik’s wing movement is causing a lot of problems to AIFF defence.
17′: Diamondstar !! He again makes a timely block to stop Shilton. Shilton had skipped past his marker there. It could have been dangerous. Score remains 1-0 to Bagan.
18′: Fela !! The AIFF striker had a golden chance to equalise there but he misses a sitter !!
20′: Pace of the match is gradually picking up. Bagan need to be careful about AIFF’s wingers pace, the defence was caught napping once already.
21′: Jagroop !! Brilliant from the young ‘keeper – he came out just in time to deny Muritala a clear header. It could have been 2-0 there..
23′: Muritala !! He should have done better from that chance. Good work from Souvik to set him up.
24′: Raju with a trademark long throw but danger averted in Bagan box. Raju’s throw-ins are similar to former Indian player Nousad Mussa’s long throws.
25′: Fela !!He finally outfoxed Diamondstar there but failed to take a strong shot. His finishing needs to improve.

31′: Souvik got injured and went off. Jayanta comes in as his replacement.
32′: Chidi !! It could have been 2-0 there. Jagroop makes a good save from Chidi free-kick.
35′: Good fighting spirit shown by the young AIFF team. They conceded an early goal yet they are trying to attack Bagan strongly. They seem to be under no pressure despite playing in front of a partisan crowd.
37′: Bagan got two free-kicks and wasted both of them. Snehashis Chakravarty is being missed in this department today.
40′: Play is bogged down in center of the park.
41′: Muritala got 2-3 good chances in first half but failed to utilise any of them.
42′: Raju’s throw in caused some panic in the Bagan box. The ball finally cleared safely.
43′: Here’s a sentence Mohun Bagan fans thought they would never hear – Diamondstar has been the best defender for Bagan today ! It is true, he looks like a different player under Bhowmik.
45′: And just as we said this Fela skins Diamondstar to unleash a rasping shot. Shilton came to the rescue and makes a brilliant save.
HT: Mohun Bagan 1-0 AIFF XI :: It has been a pretty entertaining half of football in Salt Lake Stadium. Both teams have carved out good chances but it is Bagan who lead thanks to Chidi. The home team can ill-afford to relax in 2nd half. AIFF XI has looked dangerous in patches.

84′: Ishfaq once again provides the assist for Chidi’s goal. Looks like it’s game, set, match for Bagan.

FT: Mohun Bagan 2-0 AIFF XI :: As expected Bagan won comfortably in the end. The scoreline is misleading as Bagan could easily have won by 5 or 6 goals. 1′: Match kicks off. Both teams desperately need a win. Air India is the only team in I-League 2010/11 which is still without a win. They sit rock bottom in the table. Dempo, too have dropped a lot of points so far and are well behind table toppers East Bengal. The defending champions will be bolstered by the return of Indian NT players.
10′: Dempo has come close to scoring once but failed to capitalize on a good buildup. Air India defence is fighting for its dear life already. Score is 0-0.
13′: GOOOAAALLL !!! Would you believe it ? It’s the Airmen who have taken a shock lead !! Manjit Singh is the scorer.
25′: GOOOAAALLL !!! This is incredible !! Air India are now two up against Dempo !! This time it’s an own goal from John Dias.
35′: It remains 2-0 in favor of Airmen. Dempo trying their best to pull one back before the lemon break, but Air India defenders are playing for their life.
HT: It’s halftime at Kohlapur and Air India displayed a spirited performance to take a 2-0 lead over defending Champions Dempo. Ranty Martins misses another penalty – his 3rd miss in this I-League season.
55′: GOOOAAALLLL!!! More drama here as Air India scores their third goal of the match. Samsong Singh is the scorer for the Pilots.
65′: Air India is maintaining their three goal cushion, Dempo looking stunned by the proceedings and losing too many balls in the midfield. Armando Colaco is looking furious at the dug out.
75′: It’s looking like an off day at office for the Dempo players. Ranty misses another chance as he blasts a decent chance from the edge of the box over the Air India cross-piece.
85′: It still remains 3-0 in favor of Air India. Seems like it’s all over for the reigning champions and their body language, too, suggests so.
90′: GOOOAAALLLL!!! It’s unbelievable!!! The team which could not win a single match in the first 10 rounds, puts 4 past the defending champions. Air India is leading by 4-0 with just the injury time to play for.
FT: Air India 4-0 Dempo. This is an incredible victory by the Airmen, perhaps their best till date in I-League history as they thrash the defending Champions Dempo by a huge 4-0 margin to register their first win of the season. But even this win could not propel them up from the relegation zone. With 8 points from 11 games, they remain at the bottom of the table, floating just one point above ONGC FC.

1’: The match kicks off at the Fatorda, Margaon. Salgaocar must win this match to keep in touch with runway leaders East Bengal. JCT, after a dismal start to their campaign, came back on track with some gritty performances in last 5 matches.
5’: First chance of the match for Salgaocar. Jaspal makes a good run down the right and delivers a good cross, Ekene’s attempted back volley goes wide.
8′: Good cross by Gilbert, but JCT keeper Pawan comes out of his line and collects.
12′: Francis brought down at the edge of the box. Free kick for Salgaocar, but Jaspal blasts it over.
16′: Great ball by Tomba towards Ekene, he passed it to Francis, but the winger fires it over the JCT goal.
20′: Marauding run by Sueoka, he goes down in the box as Omoloja blocks him, but no penalty given – and rightly so. It was a clean tackle.
25′: No goals yet in the match. Salgaocar gets a corner, short one taken by Tomba, Sueoka tried a delightful chip over Pawan’s head, but the JCT ‘keeper collects with ease.
27′: Free kick for Salgaocar in a dangerous position at the edge of the JCT box, Jaspal steps up and puts in a screamer which misses the target by a whisker and goes over the woodwork. JCT is living dangerously here.
30′: Ekene is having a shocker of a game here. Misses another good chance to put Salgaocar ahead. The Fatorda crowd is urging Karim to take him off. We are in to the half-an-hour mark, no goals yet.
33′: GOOOAAALLLL!!! Salgaocar takes the lead. No surprises here, it’s Sueoka once again who heads the ball home from a Gilbert cross.
35′: What a save by Karanjit. JCT gets a free kick in the Salgaocar half and Omoloja fires a cannon, but Karanjit makes an acrobatic stop.
38′: Great cross by Sueoka from the left, Just out of Ekene’s reach.
42′: It’s time for Tomba to have some fun out there. Great exchange of passes with Gilbert, before sending in an accurate cross for Ekene to poach in, but the lanky striker hits it wide.
45′: Another great move by the home team. Ekene delivers a tempting forward ball for Sueoka in the Salgaocar box, but Rahul makes a last ditch tackle to clear the danger. 1 minutes of added time remains to be played in the first half.
HT: And here goes the whistle. It’s time for lemon break. Salgaocar is leading by a goal scored by Ryuiji Sueoka.
46′: Second half gets underway at PJN Stadium, Margaon.
47′: Super move by Salgaocar. Crisp one-two in between Sueoka and Francis, Francis delivers a brilliant cross, but Ekene could not reach on time.
48′: Free kick for JCT as Jagpreet is brought down by Tomba. Great shot by Ibrahim along the ground as Salgaocar wall jumps up – brilliantly saved by Karanjit in the end.
52′: Top class save by JCT custodian, Pawan, as he comes out off his line just in time to deny Gilbert a clear shooting opportunity.
55′: Change for Salgaocar – Marcus ON, Ekene OFF.
60′: We are in to the hour mark. JCT unable to create anything of note. The game has turned a bit slow at the moment.
64′: Nice attacking move by Salgaocar. Gilbert and Jaspal combines well and the latter delivers a pin point cross to Sueoka. The Japanese’s header goes straight to Pawan.
70′: Salgaocar is trying to double their lead, but so far has been unable. JCT will fancy their chances till the scoreline remains 1-0.
72′: Misses by a whisker. Great header by Maninder Singh from Lachhuanmana assist. The goalie was beaten all ends up, but luckily ball goes just wide of the far post.
75′: Salgaocar is playing only with one man upfront – Marcus. Sueoka has dropped down to help the midfield in breaking up oppositions play. It seems Karim is happy to settle for a 1-0 win.
78′: Substitution for JCT. Harish comes ON and OFF goes Maninder.
80′: Only 10 minutes remaining for JCT to salvage a point if they can. But it looks a distant dream as it’s Salgaocar who is dominating the attack. Gilbert and Sueoka builds a wall to play a nice sequence of passes before the Japanese was brought down by Rahul. Free kick for Salgaocar, but Gilbert fires it straight to Pawan in JCT goal.
84′: Looks like JCT players have almost given up now. They are just going through the motion. Karanjit had a great game against his former employers.
87′: Substitution time for Salgaocar. Sueoka OFF, Cajetan ON. The Japanese maestro gets a standing ovation from the packed Fatorda crowd.
88′: GOOOAAALLLL ! It’s all over for JCT. Francis Fernandes with a delightful solo effort to give the home side 2-0 lead.
90′: Time wasting tactics by Karim here – Gilbert OFF, Khangembam Singh ON.
90′: The match official waves 2 minutes of added time.
